Acura Key

Does anyone know where you can get an Acura uncut key? The one that the owner gave me is beat to hell. The remote is fine though. Also, can't you just get them duplicated at walmart?

You can get a copy made but it will only unlock the doors, won't start the car because of the immobilizer. I was just in the same boat your in. Nost sure about getting a blank Acura key though, but I know a random copy won't work.

Really? I had one done at a local hardware store, it unlocked the doors but wouldn't start the car.

With your 99, you will want to get a chipped key, you can get them off ebay, but you gotta get it programmed for your car because of the chip. Or just bite the bullet and go to the dealership

From my exp. because I had this done you have to get a jkey from a dealer or a locksmith that has the programable key that has the chip in it.. The other thing is the dealer will charge $38 and the another $100 bucks to program it!!

I went to the service area and acted like i needed one of the techs to do a ride along and make sure my tranny was in good order and when we were chat'n I asked him to program it and he said sure for $20 and I walked outta there with 2 programmed keys!! Now thats Thinking!! CHoa!!
