DamnThisHobby'sExpensive!
ummm....ok...a 97 3.0 is quoted at around $6000 value.
By just looking at the pictures.....ouch...
hood, trunk, front & rear bumper, headlight, taillight, front and rear quarter panels, maybe some engine/suspension work.....did the air bags go off??
Oh. DONT FORGET PAINT!!
Umm im sorry to tell you...but your probably gettin reeeaallllyy close w/ it being totaled.
IE. damage cost is probably going to be right round the cost of the car...it could be totaled.
I know it might not look that way, but after I had a few dents (that i could hardly see) from hail...I got the car inspected....$3,000 in damage. Paint was most of the cost...and for you, you lookin at paint for the bumpers, hood, trunk, whole side of the car, and maybe a few other places....
Damn man...glad your ok...but WTF did u do!?! (please tell me this wasnt your fault!

not that it helps, but i don't need a new front bumper or trunk and the air bags didn't go off. parts alone, i figure it'd be close to $2000. would it even help to go through insurance or would they just claim it totalled?

im 95% sure that'll be totaled. new hood painted, about $1000, headlight $200, grill $100 ?, radiator $150 ?, rear bumper $500 (im positive of that), new rear quarter panel i hear is like $2000 painted, wilp99 knows for sure, the front fender painted ill guess $800. theres GOT to be more than those things, and thats almost $5000. keep in mind some insurance companies total the car once the repair costs exceed 75% of the cars value.. it depends based on the company though, some are like 60%. Glad you're ok though and good luck with everything.

that looks similar to my brothers 2000 Civic SI a couple years ago, hit ice and nailed a guard rail... and they totaled it. Civic = Cheaper parts too.
sorry about the accident, but If its totaled, I call the rear speaker grilles!!

yeah the insurance company will buy the car from you, but you have the option to keep it and part it out yourself and not get anything from the insurance company. Sometimes you can get more money that way, it depends how many parts you can get off of it and sell, and what people will pay for them.

I just droped off my car right now and it wasnt nothing major. Hood 456$, each headlight $272 with tax, bumper cover $250, fender $211, bumper support 115$, grill 100$ or sumtin lie that, the hood shock to lift hood is like 30$ nuts screws clips 40$ then the paint job and labor for it came out to be $2311. with some change. Its really coming out to be close to 2,800$ I paid a little extra over so I can get the PDG bottom with black top two-tone paint job. CANT WAIT!!!!

wave goodbye.. that mofo is toast. atleast 5-6k in dammage. mainly front frame integrity. theres no upper cross frame (just forward of the radiator. left main frame, you have a 3.0 so im almost positive you broke the block somewhere.. could be just the point where the motor mounts are but im sure theyre broken off or the screws are ripped out of the block.. just too much dammage to even begin to estimate. toast..
so whats the beef behind the accident.. dont make us make up our own storey..
