AC problem help!

I have one problem with my car that I cannot seem to figure out, when ever the AC is on and the extra load is placed on the engine when I depress the clutch the revs drop to about 700 - 750 RPM and the car shakes then the idle slightly climbs once it settles. I have done all my maintenance on the car including plugs and wires. The engine is a 2.3 single overhead cam. This happens when slowing down to stop at a light or basically anythime i depress the clutch, it makes the car very difficult to drive with the AC on.

What can i do to fix this?

This happend in my 1994 mitsubishi galant when i had it. The problem was the throttle position sensor and/or idle control motor/valve. Those are like $150+ dollar parts though. Maybe take it to an auto store and have them hook up a computer to it to see if it is giving you any codes.
