Hey guys,

I got new rims for my car when she was in the shop and now I have her back, the ABS light comes on but not right away but after a while of driving.

They are 17x7, 215/45 tires

Could it be the rims? Sensor in the tire well?

Any ideas?

Also should I use the paperclip technique to check it out, the only thing is that it wont be still on if I turn the car off, its only on after driving for a bit

 

its probly the sensors.... spray some brake cleaner on them and wipe off with a rag. if that dont fix it, then theres bigger problems

 

anyone got a pic of the location on the wheel sensors?

 

If not the sensors then it will be the ABS brain box. If that is tyhe case go toa salvage yard and get a used one. News ones are $1100.

 

I had 3 of them replaced, they are over 120 bucks each + labor. But it ok because for me the dealership had to do it.

 

did you just try resetting the car, pull the negative for a minute and see if the problem/light goes away? if its serious wouldnt it come back?

 

see its not that its on all the time, it did it today agian this evening when i was driving like 80 on the country roads on the way home from work tonight

but just all of the sudden, the body shop told me it was the new rims, but it hasnt done it at all in 3 days and i have worked all this week and no light but just occasionally

 

when the shop resets or does the inspection the abs light stays on for a bit and then goes off.
