99 camry and cl

so i was driving a 99 camry today and decided to see what it could do. i floored it at my local desolate country road and boy it was tourqy... more tourqy than my cl. i dont know if its faster but there both v6's and my cl has i/e. so i guess im asking is our cars faster than v6 camrys or solaras? any one have any experience with them? sorry if this belongs in street encounters.. i couldnt decide which section to post

I didn't realize the Camry was much slower than the Camry. I also have a 96 3.0L Camry (previous gen of the 99 Camry), but both has the 1MZ-FE engine. The Camry's torque feels significantly more pronounced in the low RPMs. The Camry has a slight boost around 4k rpm when the intake switches over (forgot the technical term). The high-end power beings to plateau soon after.

I'll take the CL over the Camry. Stock vs stock, the CL's suspension is tuned more aggressively, making it more fun to drive. If you can't beat a Camry in a straight line, take it through a street with plenty corners. You can out maneuver it in corners, unless the driver is Takumi Fujiwara.

Here are some dynos that may or may not be of any assistance:

^^ where you looking at the j30a stock, or j30a with intake, custom catless exhaust, no ps, no ac

the toyota and honda engine are almost exactly the same, and it definately has a shit load more torque stock for stock.....
