98 cl h.i.d. kit recommendation

Anyone know where I can get an h.i.d. kit 6500k for a reasonable price? I bought one on ebay but it never worked for some reason, and the ebay sellers has over 100k positive feedbacks. Thank you, D.J.

Friend of mine recommended sharphid.com to me a while back. I will probably try them out once I do the TL Bi-xenon retro since they come with lifetime warranty on their kits. I am currently running an "MKS" hid kit I bought on ebay about 2.5 years ago. I paid 145 back then and thus far I have not had any complaints. *knock on wood*

i have hid's from vvme and they work fine, i would recommend getting them from ddm tuning though, as people have good things to say about their kits.
as far as your other kit, it should work, did you try flipping all the plugs one by one 180 degrees? i had to do that for my kit even though it seemed like it was connected the right way the first time i did it.

i get all my kits from hidgate on ebay never had any problems with them and have ordered over 10 kits for varous cars. I have a 10k kit on my ac and my 08 300. I love em but 6k would produce way more light than mine. what about your lights did not work. Did you try reversing the polarity of the plug(just switch it around, ah i see ive been beaten to the punch). Kits are usually 60 shipped from the co i go with and 1 year warranty

Get a DDM HID kit. My friend has one and it looks great. I unfortunately bought 4 kits from VVME.com and since they're located in China, if you get a defectived one, you're fucked cause they won't ship you another one.

Hmm... I have a 98 and I bought a kit for around 40 bucks and that's with shipping included. Thought the deal was to good to be true, but it ended up working perfectly. I'd do some more troubleshooting and buy another kit on ebay from another seller if you can't fix your problem.

Yeah I didn't want to sacrifice light output by going higher, nor did I really want to have blue headlights (which are cop magnets). I read about the differences online and saw some comparison pics, but the 55w didn't really seem to be worth the extra money and they have a bit more glare so I went with the 35w.

never heard about the 55w causing extra glare before but i didn't really research it a lot before i bought HIDs
i'm happy with my vvme kit though, although i would like even more light output, that's why i was looking at the 55w ones now
but i don't really feel like ripping out the ones i have in now, cuz the install of the ballasts and wires is almost exactly what i want, and it looks clean to me

55w does cause more glare because of the reflector housing. They are more for projectors from what I have recearched.

just a friendly warning, 55w ddm is stupid bright. i'm running em through 08 mdx d2s projectors with 85122s (and ddm 35w 3000K h3 in projector fogs down low)... everything focused and cut off proper, so i don't hurt oncoming and it looks oem as hell, but i'll say this: i've got some dark-ass country roads where i live, and the only work my halogen 9005 highbeam bulbs do is keep water out of the housing, lol.

i also put a set of 4300K h7 55w ddms in my girl's tiburon (halogen-focused) projectors, and the spread/depth/beam is simply sick for an h7 halogen projector. and with hers, even though her cutoff is acceptable and she never gets flashed, even a semi-experienced eye can see they are not oem. for the buck, her results are outstanding, though.

55w ddm in reflectors, you'll be giving insta-tans to oncoming -- i think it might be bad enough that you'd get attention. 35w should be plenty in a reflector; if you want to cut glare in a reflector, i believe a d2r bulb would be optimal either way, and imho, likely necessary to keep a ddm 55w charge from becoming a deathray.
perhaps d2r could be rebased to fit a 9006?

i bought a 6k 35watt hid kit from DDM, they are awesome, i have personally seen the 55k, it causes a lot of glare, thats when you will be flashed. but i have had them for about 4 weeks, no flashes from an oncoming car or anything. good luck, and DDM is they way to go imo.

I got my 4300k kit today and it is BRIGHT. Not too much glare either, but I have to adjust my headlights a tad bit.
