Use the stock wire. Dont need 4 gauge for that short of a run.

Not sure why? The stock wire works just fine.

I put in an 180amp alternator and it works fine with stock wiring. They probably didn't know that the stock alternator is 105amps and that it is already wires with 4gauge wire.

sorry to sound like a dick, the stock alternator is 90 amps... and the stock wirring is 8 gauge.

The alternator does not need a heavy wire, A: its a short cable run like niedejb said and B: all the alternator does really is keep the battery charged.

Why you guys upping your alternators? Are you having problems w/ battery draining? I have AEM underdrive pulleys and two amps for stereo, and see no problem running stock alt. Also, where you get 180amp one and how much? Thx.

I was getting dimming of the dash lights when the cooling fan kicked on (this is with 1400 watt amp, head lights, fog lights, AC, running at the same time).

I got mine from eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1860106891

BTW: I got mine for $149.00.

97Acura3.0CL , have u tried a cap or a deep cycle or marine battery. I had thet similar problem pushin 1 jl audio 1000/3 and 1 600/4 and the marine battery and cap worked. I just got the alternator for future expansion.

Is this something easy to install yourself? I didn't look, but are the bolts and stuff accessable?
