The 3.0 Is Slow!!
AHH TODAY SUCKED! I lowered my tire pressure, removed all extra weight, and I get there and the first run i make 16.1. I thought hey not bad for a first run, but then after that I kept getting slower, i allowed plenty of cooling time and still ran bad. Then I tried changing throttle points on my vafc, ran worse, so then I put it back, reset my ecu, and ran 16.3. The kicker of them all is I ran against a 3.0 v6 accord and he ran 16.07 and all he had was an intake! GOD this sucks! I wish I woulda had my n20 installed! O well!
I am gonna get it tuned soon so hopefully it'll help

holy shit! that is slow! why do all the 3.0 guys think they are so much faster than the 2.X 5spds.? I guarantee a well driven 2.3 with your mods would be in the high 15's.

yea i have noticed that a lot of guys with a 3.0 think that they are faster than the 5 speeds. I think with the right mods a 5 speed will be right there with the 3.0s but int he end the 3.0s 50 extra hp takes over! only if the 3.0 came in a 6 speed! Then there is no comparison at all!
Yeah, it would be nice if we could pull sub 15's, haha.
One thing I always wondered is why the hell do all the car stats sites show the 97 3.0 as 7.8 0-60 and a quarter mile of 16.1 +- 1 while they all have the 99 3.0 running a 7.3 and a quarter mile 15.5 +- 2 ? I thought they were the same car.
Maybe a better tranny can help by bringing more hp to the wheels.

My fastest was a 15.8 with a short ram. The fastest 2.X that day (CLTypeR) ran a 15.8 but he had headers, exhaust, intake, and VAFC, and an INCREDIBLE launch--he could really launch his CL.

I personally have never beaten a 3.0 in my 2.3 and I know they are faster, I just can't believe he couldn't break 16. I lost to my friends dads stock one and I had e/i/. We raced till about 100 tho. Thats the only CL i've ever gotten to race
I'm going to the track this friday, but it's only the 1/8th I'll post some times for sure tho.
My best time was a 15.8 with a CAI and some nice cool weather, a speaker box in the trunk, and some powerbreaking from a start in D3.
Now that I have headers, exhaust and a real AEM CAI, I want to hit the track and see if I can get mid to low 15's.
And bring any 2.X my way, he may hang with me for the early run, but them 200+ HP will walk him down PDQ!

I think the 2.X's can be strong, but given the same mods the 3.0 will win.

you are just blowing it out of proportion, of course a turbo will make the equation much different. Bring me any non-FI or major internal work 2.3 F series motor and we'll see what will happen
