3.0 flooded

Ol' reliable got flooded up to about 10 inches below the windows. Fresh water. I've got it pretty dried out on the inside using fans and such, but I'm wondering if it's worthwhile to take it to the shop and try to get it running. Quite a bit of debris in the engine bay and such, won't start - I'm guessing some computer may have gotten fried or whatnot.

Anyone have a similar experience? Maybe it's time to hang it up and upgrade that azz. She's had a good run.

TIA.

Let her dry out some more. Hood up in the sun for a few days and see if she'll start.

You can submerse a desktop computer in water and it will start up if it fully dries out.

I'm not saying it will work but don't give up yet.

Thanks - not throwing in the towel yet. If I can get it running, it's worth at least something. Right now it's a brick.

I'm a bit late to the game, but definitely unplug the batt, dry everything you can and wait several days. You try to fire it up before it's completely dry and you will fry something.

Since I'm big into RC boats, I know all about the dangers of moisture in electronics. Using the above methods, I never lost a single components. and btw I dont run toy boats, were talking a 1kw motor running on 19.2v, pulling 65amps. The boat has sunk at least 5 times. The trick really is just wait. I know that's hard to do, but it might mean the difference of several hundred to a thousand, vs. no cost at all.
