200 watt alt

I need a higher alternator but was wondering if a 200 watt alt would be good enough.

No I have surge problems for runnin hyper whites. The street glows run 80 watts a bulb and cause a major surge. When I have my flashers on at a red light or stop sign the flasher will blink and cause it to surge cause of the hyper whites. I am going to get some HIDs but not soon. I also hate the fact that if I do get subs I will have a surge I want no surge, plus all the time I have fuses blowin so I am sick of that too. Oh I have a 180 watt right now. So I guess i will bump up to a 200 watt if I can find one.

i thought the hyper whites were supposed to be the same wattage as stock? thats what they all say on the box. Good luck finding that.

werd.... learn somethign about electronics before you come up in this ish talking about 200 watt alternators.... if you are having power issues with just bulbs than its most likely bad grounding/wiring.. the 180 should be plenty.

what do you mean by surge?

it sounds like your wiring was done by 6 drunk monkies (not a racist joke, really the animal )

stock is 105 amp.

i wanna get a 130 amp but i dont wana fry my ecu or any other components of the

acura cl electrical system.

200 amp you'll be able to generate enough energy to do cosmetic surgery, or hell even run a

microwave oven.

200 amps really isn't that much. 100 amps alone is generally what you'd need for 2000 watts of class D power. Cut that in half for traditional amps. 200 amps can dissapear quickly...

My friend that owns the car audio shop has a Yukon show truck that has two 315 amp alternators.

I don't have any wireing which is weird. The bulbs are just replacements and some do run at factory levels but not all look as good as the street glows. All the wireing in the car is factory. So I figured cause the bulbs were pushing more and causeing a dimming what would a system in my car do, this is why I am looking into a higher powered amp.

Even at 100 watts a piece, the bulbs wouldn't make that much difference. That's only ~10 amps more total. With a 180 amp alternator, you shouldn't have ANY problems unless there is some other high current draw.

constantly putting strain on the electrical system by drawing too much power will kill your alternator pretty fast.

so If I have no system and well I do have some neons but I don't run them when I am driving so what other than the bulbs would cause the surge. I have tried everything else yellow top battery, Higher alt, what else could I do
