2.2CL Header Pics

Just thought I'd post some pics of my OBX header (stainless steel), which was installed a couple weeks ago. It's a little discolored now--it looked a lot better new--but that's what SS does. I suppose I'll have to polish it if I want it to look all shiny.

Question for anyone with headers--it looks like the A/C hose is pretty close to the header. Is this something to worry about? I was thinking about wrapping some thermal tape around it to protect from the heat given off by the header now. Anyone think this is a good idea? Thanks.

looks good. probably don't have to worry about the a/c hose but I guess it wouldn't hurt to put it on

I think the dicoloration is cool. Those are nice, what did the OBX header cost you, and what car platform did you use?

I got the header from Ebay (94-97 Accord / Acura CL 4 cyl fits perfect). Repeating what agranado said: Although the ceramic costs less and weighs less, I chose the SS over the ceramic due to all of the posts I've read about the ceramic cracking--something I did not want to deal with

Would the 94-97 Accord header fit the 2.3CL as well?

I've been looking around on Ebay and found only OBX ceramic header for my CL 2.3 And it cost only 150, so I doubted about the quality. How much did you get urs for? and what website did you go into or did u get it at da store?
Ya, and how does it sound and feel with the new header? does it push any harder?

no.. they are 150. I've had mine on for almost a year and it hasnt cracked or anything.

Go with it (and make sure whoever you're buying from has a high feedback rating too )

can you heat wrap ss too or is that just for ceramic headers?

Do other makes of ss headers, like for example dc headers get that discolored after just a couple weeks?? i dont know if ive ever seen ss that bad after so short a time, of course ive never kept a day to day diary of them either

On the subject of OBX headers, I read that they weren't CARB exempt. Now on the ebay auction, they say CARB exempt. Is that legit? Interesting way to spend my first post....
