Hey,

I've ghosted the forum for about a week and decided to finally move my lazy ass and get an account. I have a 99 cl 2.3

and yea thats me in the pic trying to look gangsta, 17.... going to college in N.C. so if anyones around just say hi.

As you probably guessed it I have no engine work whatsoever so yea...=(

My rims aren't usually that dirty, my friends and I were going on a rally sorta thing and we went on gravel roads/dirt roads so my rims were all dusty.

one last thing, yes I know I have to lower my car.

no i bought it bone stock originally it was white.

It cost 800$ for the paint but they did the door handles/trunk/and some other tiny spots. If u see it in real life it sparkles cuz they added this sparkly stuff in the paint.

The color is metallic blue. I got it painted in MD at Maaco, I just moved to N.C. for college.

Oh yea i forgot to mention I have a 20$ aftermarket shift knob!

My Bday's coming up 17th of sept. so hopefully I'll get enough money to lower my car.

Maaco?? woahh buddy. the worst paint people in the world. all i know from people around here whos had there paint job from maaco, is that it starts pealing/gets spider webs and chips very easy. and the shine fades away easy. i guess its just cheap paint they use.

but i sure hope they used high quality paint on yours, because it definatly looks good.

hey man whatsup!?! Welcome! Yea i love the color, but ive heard bad things about macco. Hopefully your paint will be alright. Did they give u a warranty or anything? I'd just keep all the paperwork and if there is some type of warranty, keep checking for cracks and chips before the warranty expires. (i had a friend get a macco paintjob and 4 days later when he went to shut his door, paint chipped right off and fell to the ground.

Anyway!, yea if your wanting to lower it, hopefully some B-day $$ can help you out. You can find used springs on ebay but i'd buy new shocks if i were you. Some go with Eibach prokit (1.5" drop) and dont get new shocks or camber kit..(cheaper route) Others (like i just got) Get a more agressive drop, Eibach Sportline (1.75-2" drop) and get KYB AGX shocks and a camber kit. <-- if your planning on going that route, expect to pay around $550 before install...(thats $100 for used springs, $300 new shocks & $150 camber kit)

BTW: those 17's or 18" wheels??

Lastly, (wow this post is long...sorry) Yea i got my car repainted and all the dents removed for just a little over $3,000....I had hail damage and insurance picked up the tab. (I actually got my WW lip painted for free too) So yea, $800 for paint is cheap! hope it stays nice! I'm actually planning on painting mine in a year or two. I'm going for a mixture between a black and midnight blue (saw the color on NFS2) but with added silver flake sparkles & a hint of Lexus grey...

you should def get new shocks with the prokit, the stocks will get blown very fast if you leave them on with any drop

I tried that too the Aegean Blue and they told me the same thing 3g I laughed at them , I told them that's half the price of the car.

17" motegis ff7

Thanks for the advice on the lowering, I've been searching and reading some of the posts about it. I haven't found anything on how hard the ride becomes based on how much lower the car. Is there a noticable difference in feel between 1.5" and 2"

oh yea and the paint is not perfect quality I'll admit that. However, you can't see any imperfections unless your face is about 6" from the paint and your looking directly at it. There are 3-4 1 mm bubbles on the hood and a part of a side mirror on the inside is still white.

I dunno how my car will hold up longterm, but right now its sitting outside in the sun =(

Welcome to A-Z. Glad to have you on the board. Good luck with the paint. Besides, nobody around here has a perfect paint job. I know mine needs a little help from rock chips and shit.
