1Gen CL Spoiler Question
1Gen CL Spoiler Question
I just purchased a rear spoiler for my 1997 3.0 CL on ebay from AutoEarth.com. It seems like a high quality item so hopefully I won't be dissapointed.
Once I get this, I will obviously need to have it painted and mounted by a body shop, but I am wondering if trunk will still stay open from the added weight. Does anyone know? If not, are there stronger trunk springs available?
Regards,
Rick

Yeah, mine doesn't pop open when I release the trunk either. Spring tension feels pretty light.
Here is the link to the spoiler I purchased:

If I need heavier springs, where is the best place to get them?

Rick

All you gotta do is twist those little rubber stoppers in the corners of where the trunk closes to make it pop all the way up when you open it. I remember when I slapped in my Diamond Audio 12" and Kicker KX500.2 in the trunk and it rattled like hell. Then I tightened the trunk by twisting the stoppers to where they were all the way up and it stopped the rattling. You gotta baby it when closing the trunk afterwards if you do tighten it.

just buy new springs. they say that there are replacements for the stock ones that are desinged for the car if you have a spoiler. i haven't really had a need to look for them because my car came equipped with them.
