1 gen mod question

I want to know is a 1gen auto tranny worth modding? or am I going to lose my tranny due to just i/h/e and maybe a chip? thats all I plan on doing but not if its going to put my tranny at serious risk. So should I do a few bolt ons? or will it cause me to lose my tranny?

I'll be the first to say they really don't make a chip for our car, atleast any good one that'll do anything, and the tranny is just bad period. Regardless if you mod it or not, it has a chance of dying on you. Adding 15-30hp at the crank isn't gunna really affect the tranny that much one way or the other.

I hope you are right because i have an automatic 2.2 and i have exhaust and intake. So far I haven't noticed anything getting worse about my transmission.

its more about how you drive it, if you beat the piss out of it and push it alot its gonna take a shit on you. ofcourse high mileage will also cause wear and tear and crap out on you anyways.

exactly, if u push and push, it'll probably die, if you drive easy, it has a better shot of living longer. But, if your putting mods on it, that probably means that 200hp isn't enough for you so you probably beat the shit out of it so yea, it probably will die lol

If your tranny hasn't been rebuilt, it'll probably give out at some point, the bearings at the rear of the tranny like to break loose and bounce inside your gears which is what chews up most 3.0 trannys. However, adding 10-15 hp won't do much. I've had my tranny rebuilt, but I'm pushing at least that by now, soon to be a lot more and no problems for me
