¿How to de-badge?

Can anyone tell me if there are holes under the "Acura" and "3.0" logos? Like others, I would like to remove mine, but if there are holes, then I will wait and have a body shop do it.

This question has surely come up before, it would be great to have a "How to" area, for the 1st gens.

BTW I'm new here, got my CL three weeks ago!

There are no holes under any of the trunk labels. I bought a certified pre-owned 3.0 CL in Jan. 2001 and it has no trunk labels whatsoever. The dealer put new ones on for me. They are affixed with 3M type padded double-sided tape.

I am not sure how you would go about removing them. My sense would be to use a blow dryer and heat them up and then gradually pry them loose from the trunk.

Whatever residual tape and residue is remaining can be removed with a wax solvent like Nu-Finish or Liquid Lustre.

All I did was pull the emblems off with my fingers and then pick off all the adhesive. It's easy once you get it started.

I just heated up my emblems and then gently pryed them off. You can use fishing string to help get them off and then get rid of the ahesive with some rubbing alcohol. Everyone above is right, no holes except under the A

No more scratches thanks to the dumbass who walked on my car and had to pay to have it repainted.

heat them u with a blow dryer or let it sit in the sune. pull them off then use rubbing alcohol and get the rest of the glue residue. even with all that under the word acura emblem it is still visible that it used to be there on my black paint. so on dark paint u might have a prob. i tried everything so far and if u look closely u can tell that it used to be there.

hey thanks guys, just reading the title of this thread made me grab some alcohol and a CD (yes, a CD to scrape the glue off, works great and dosent scratch the paint). Also, I used a little rubbing compound, but dont get too carried away with it, it can remove a clear coat faster than you can imagine.

I just did it to my CL and it looks great. Gives a nice clean look. I bought my CL with the gold emblems but I hated it. I removed all the badges and replaced the front and rear "A" badges only. You can use WD-40 to remove the glue. Work great.
