front speakers???

Hey...looking to get new front door speakers...not components. I want to keep my factory tweeters and replace the 6 1/2's w/ a 3way or 4way speaker. Any tips or opinions and any members experience any problems w/ any speakers on being too deep and interfering w/ the window when moved. I want clean loud sound and planning on using a pioneer anp w/ 75 watts max per channel...any suggestions from personal use. Right now I have the pioneer premier 940 h/u w/ pioneer premier three way 6x9's in the rear...pioneer amp is not intsalled as of yet...in works. lemme know guys...thanks

I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to replace the tweeters as well. But, if you are, maybe think about putting 6.5 midbass in the door. The only problem is that the Bose tweeters aren't that clear. I have Kicker comps and they are deeper than the coax's and there is no problem what so ever.

what was the spec on the OEM's? I'm interested too, I have some good Infinities in the Honda that I want to migrate over to the Pimp-Mo-Beel My question as well is are these aftermarkets compatible with the stock head unit/amp?

Not to tear up any of your thoughts... But from all of the research that I have done it is def. worth your time and $ to do a system perfect the first time. I would consider buying a better front component speaker. Find a speaker that sounds good that gets loud. I must say I was impressed with MB Quart's discus 6.5's for the price. They aren't too deep either.. if they were you could buid a little spacer for them.

I agree with everyone, to not go component is not gonna sound that great. Is it that you just don't want to have to take the tweets out or do you plan on using them ?

I used to have 3-way speakers and then I heard components. Components is the only way to go. The difference in sound quality is huge. I would recommend you look at components although they run a little more money it is well worth it. As for mounting depth I don't really know.

Get comps and disable the sail panel tweeter.

That is without a doubt the worst place to mount a tweeter. The front stage can't possibly be tuned correctly with the tweeter and mid so far from each other.

You SHOULD get custom kickpanels made for the BEST imaging! But it does cost a pretty penny

OK...w/o custom kickpanels...where should I mount the tweeter instead of the factory mounting. Like I asked above...does anybody know if I will have trouble mounting these in the factory locations...how do I figure out if they will be to deep or not??

OK to all...thanks for all the advice. Now I have narrowed it down to a couple of dfferent sets of components. Please give me all and any positive or negative feedback on any of these and/or which would you recommend and why
1. Alpine SPR-176A
2. JL Audio TR650-CSI
3. MB Quart DSE-216
4. Pioneer Premier TS-C604
5. Infinity 60.3cs
6. Infinity 6000cs

All are in the range of $125-$209...the JL audios are a best sound of show winner. The pioneers just because I have a pioneer premier h/u, 6x9's and interior amp. The rest because of quality and the respect I have for that company...plus in my price range. I need help deciding!!!!!!!!!

I've heard that the people who used to be responsible for the MB Quarts of the past decade are now working at JL Audio, which may explain their sudden rise in quality. I'm very happy with my JL Audio set-up, but since I'm using the factory H/U, the whole system would sound like shit if I didn't have an EQ to bring it all to life.

Go with MB Quart. I haven't listened to the series you are talking about but ever since I got my QSDs I've been enjoying every second in my car so much more. I would think all the MB Quart speakers would be good.

Can anyone compare the new MB Quart "Q" series with the older ones?
