Compatibilities with new smart phones
Thought it might be worthwhile to start a thread where people share their experiences with the new smart phones, especially for those of us who have not committed to a new phone yet. I've e-mailed Acura but they are a little slow in testing, for example they are still testing the Motorola Droid and yet to confirm compatibility but people here have already confirmed limited functionalities.
1) Motorola Droid: limited?
2) Google Nexus One: ?
3) Palm Pre: per Acura, not compatible
4) Apple iPhone: full compatibility

BlackBerry Storm 9550 and 9530 are fully compatible.
AcuraLink works if Verizon tethering plan is active on the account.
Streaming Bluetooth audio is awesome! Works from media player, Slacker, Pandora, etc. (Who needs XM??)

Samsung Omnia 2 (I8000) is working fine , but sometimes I cannot dial through BT but I'm receiving calls. At my next service I'll ask about the HFL updates that was mentioned by somebody else here.
You state that the storm is fully compatible, yet I am unable to dial directly from the phone and have it go through the system although it is already paired? Something you know that I dont? Would love to know if you are able to do this or not.
Thanks for the info

I can't make my iPhone 3GS work for the music. I can make call and everything but can't play music if I select the "HDD/Aux" option. I can play music using "Bluetooth" option but can't control iPhone using Navi screen. I have to use the iPhone, which I want to avoid. Any solution?
^ Unfortunately the bluetooth audio won't allow you control your playlists through the nav interface, you have to do that on the device. (at least with the iPhone, as I haven't tested any other devices)
If you want to use the nav interface, connect through USB and you have access to the playlists through the nav.

Setting up my iPhone was reasonably straightforward
Downloading my address book was simple, too. Setting up "speed dial" was a bit of a pain but that's the way it goes. Interfacing to my playlists? Again, a bit of a pain but far from rocket science.
The only thing my iPhone won't do that I miss is Bluetooth wireless music through my Acura radio. Yet it works with my Motorola S-9 HD wireless headset. I can even control the music list with small buttons on the Headset.
And I of course can't get Acuralink to work...

I setup the Handsfree Link (TM) bluetooth conenction and it paired up with the Nav fine. Everything from keytaps to camera snaps comes through the speakers - which means itunes and pandora work fine. It's nice having clear, wireless Pandora in the car...but the skip thing would be even cooler.
Everything else works wonderfully.
I make sure it's already paired, start the iPod interface on the phone, pick the playlist that I want, then just say, "Bluetooth Audio play" and it works fine.
To my admittedly very old ears, the Bluetooth Audio sounds just as good as the USB and iPod audio.
