Usb no data issue help
Hello Guys i am having issues with my iPhone 6S connectivity inside the MDX. Overtime i go in an connect the phone i get a USB NO DATE OR CONNECTION ERROR...then a few minutes it will say iPod information is now ready.
1. Is there any special way i should be connecting first?
2. Do i need comparable cables
3. Should i power off the radio and back on.

I have this happen with my 4G TL, I usually unplug the cord and replug it in and it works fine. It's happened with my aftermarket cord all the time, never with the apple cord.

I never liked the small cables for data/charging for apple products. They do go bad sometimes with all the flexing and (cheap) aftermarket brands that work without error messages are sometimes hard to fine.
I copied my iTunes library over to a USB drive and leave it plugged in 24/7. I use the Bluetooth streaming option if I need anything else from my iPhone. I have a Mophie case/battery charger for extra power to help with streaming. I also ordered from Amazon a Chinese made 4-in-1 multi head plug that can charge when needed on longer trips. I have a mixture of 30-pin, lightning, and USB with the Mophie case for my apple charging needs. The Chinese made plug doesn't do data if you need to update with iTunes at home. I save my (expensive) Apple cable for that.

Re-Bluetooth calling issue.
I have a question i am having an issue with adding names in the phone system…how do you add a names for it to call back. Every time i press the talk button it just brings up the list of last calls but no option for me to say" call greg" in my previous 06 RL use to press the talk button and say call "Greg" and it would repeat and then call.

It might just be a bad cable and/or the pins on the phone are getting a little worn.
If you do decide to try the USB stick thing, you have to format in FAT32 for the Acura system to read the music files. You will get an "unsupported" message if the USB stick has any format other than FAT32. You might have to download a free FAT32 format program to force it to FAT32 if you still get the "unsupported" message after you format the USB using your computer.
