Transmission

Hi ........at approx. 60km/hr when slowing down off the gas and coasting......there is a noticeable downshift by the tranny not very smooth otherwise downshifts very smooth

I wonder has anyone else noticed this

I have talked to the Acura dealer and they want me to monitor it

2005 MDX touring 67000 km. still under warranty til 100000 km.

I have actually noticed this as well. I thought it was normal, due to the MDXs straight cut gears.

i only notice it when i step on the brake fast but not hard and i think it downshifts to help slow the car down, it doesn't feel jerky but it does slow the car down a little more

I feel a little jerk when rolling down a hill sometimes. Foot off the gas.

I was only worried that this may be warning of a transmission problem.
good to know someone else has noticed this

I would just keep an eye on it. Since you still have a warranty there should be no problem dealing with it if it gets worse.

i thought my transmission might have been bad or something too but i think that it just doesn't shift as smoothly as my other cars because it is an suv. i don't think there is a problem. i think it just doesn't shift as smoothly as you would want it
