Trailer Brake Controller

Anyone have any idea where to plug in a trailer brake controller on the '07 - '08 MDX? Dealer doesn't know.

Thanks

Thanks a bunch for the instructions, they will certainly be useful when installing the wiring, but they still don't show where to plug in the controller. The next to last page has a a picture of the pigtail (subharness) that needs to be spliced on to the controller, but doesn't tell me where to stick it! My Ford F 150 has a plug right under the steering wheel, but I can't find anything similar on the Acura. The only open jack I see is for the OBD II
Once again, thanks for the info

IKKO,
I guess not many people tow something heavy with an Acura. This might be one of those "You might be a Redneck if..." introductions.

The electric trailer brake controller plug is attached to the underside of the black panel that is under the steering column in the driver's side footwell.

Question Brake controller

Hi, installed all up to brake controller harness....thanks for the pics!! I assume the four wires then plug into any aftermarket controller?? If so, why does etrailer.com list all their brake controllers "not for use with OEM Acura wiring harness"??? Did anyone use a product they would recommend? HELP Please! Trying to go camping on weekend!

I use the Tekonsha P3 along with the Acura Factory Harness and Hidden Hitch 87474 on my 2007 MDX without any problem.

Best regards from Montreal

Hey frenchnew, how did you pick up the power and brake controller signal for your 7 way to run your brakes? My installer says he can't see where he gets these 2 wires and only installed a flat 4 for me? Any help would be appreciated guys. Thanks

He bought and used the OEM trailer wiring harness which plugs into the MDX chassis wiring harness. (plug & play) The OEM wiring harness comes with a brake controller 4 wire pigtail that plugs right into the connector under the dash (see my post aobve with the pictrue of where under the dash the plug is hidden) This pigtail provides all the wiring needed to run the controller/brakes.
