Time to replace tires and maybe all the TPMS sensors?

I haven't posted on this forum since I sold my 2005 RL. I still own a 2007 MDX as well but I haven't had many reasons to search or post here lately. I am thankful for that.

I am about to replace the tires on my wife's 2007 MDX. Over the winter the TPMS warning light would come on intermittently. Once it got warmer the light hasn't come on again. That means to me the batteries are starting to fail in the TPMS sensors. Since I am about to install new tires I mine as well replace all the TPMS sensors while I am replacing the tires.

My question is go with OEM sensors or aftermarket? It appears I can get a set of 4 aftermarket sensors on eBay for ~$45 versus it costing ~$130+ for OEM sensors.

I believe the answer will be to spend the extra cash on OEM but I figured I would ask anyways.

I haven't replaced TPMS before... For sensors, safe bet will always be OEM, but reputable aftermarkets look like a good choice as well:

Named brand aftermarket are fine as Honda sensors are made by aftermarket companies, many by Denso. Had all 4 of mine replaced on my Acura RL at Discount Tire last year with no problems.

On my 08 Si, one of the steel valve stems had a small crack and I had it replaced with the after market rubber one, 5 years ago.
When i had to buy new tires, I bit the bullet and replaced the other 3.

Just to update this thread I decided to replace all four TPMS sensors with OEM sensors when I install the new tires. It wasn't that much cheaper for aftermarket options and I know they could possibly cause an issue. I haven't installed them or the new tires yet. If I encounter any issues I will update this thread. If not I will not.
