taking 05 MDX out of storage and using it again

Have kept my MDX out of service and in the garage for about two years. Need to get it serviced in order to put it back o the road. Has approx. just under 100,000 miles on it. Any ideas as to how much this is going to cost me?

did you keep gas in it!?

or did you remove the gas?

or did you fill the tank with stabilize?

I don't remember. But I don't think there's much in the tank. Would it make a difference if there is or isn't gas in the tank?

bad gas is probably the only thing that prevents it from starting up.

try starting it up in its current condition

I'd be wary of starting it up with 2 year old unstabilized gas, TBH, i'd try and siphon out the rest of the tank and put in fresh gas less risk messing up things down the line: fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel injectors, engine etc..

but that's just pure speculation really.. others may chime in if it will hurt at all..

I agree. I am having it towed to my acura shop and let them run the testing to identify what needs repair. I am thinking it needs all the items of the 105k service maintenance, the spark plugs, the valves, various hoses, replace fluid etc. I am guestimating this will cost me anywhere between $1500 and $2500. Sound about right?

Before towing it, was there a reason you just left it parked in the garage for 2 years? Was it functioning before you stored it?

At least siphon the old gas out, put new gas in. Check your current oil levels and give it a crank. You may need a jump or a new battery, but if it starts, you know you are off to a good start!
