Outside Temp Reading way too high -

Hi

I recently had body work done on the front of my 2012 MDX (after unfortunate collision - front bumper, radiator ...) So, since the repairs, the outdoor temperature sensor has gone crazy - last night it ticked up to 86 on a 30 minute drive in mid 30 temperatures. The body shop replaced it once already. Has anyone had this happen? i am going to a heat shield missing or a balancing sensor that measures the engine temp? something wrong with the computer's logic? I have read how the algorithm is supposed to work and this makes little sense. The engine does not seem to be overheating ....

Ideas welcome
