New Rim & tire question

I am do for a new set of tire after winter time and it is the original set, I'm thinking of replacing the whole wheel & tire. I'm looking at sets of 22" rim with tire to replace the stock 18"rim, will a 22"rim fit a MDX 08 without any issue or modification.

Here's an MDX with 22s (not my vehicle)...so I know they fit. There may be a question of taste with this option, but I don't have a problem with them as long as they're clean like the ones below. It's difficult sometimes to find the right 22" wheel for a luxury SUV like the MDX.

20" is the best IMO...best selection...cheapest tires...best wheel/tire/gap ratio. If you decide to go 22", on behalf of the MDX community, please don't go ghetto...

Increasing the diameter to 22 will require a 10% sidewall which is out of the question on an MDX so you will end up by having to re-calibrate the speedometer, the odometer, the trans will be a different ratio and your MPG will suffer. All this in addition to Fugly and Ghetto doesn't seem like a good idea.

I'm going to take it that the stock size tire for '07 - '09 is the same as my '10 at 255/55/18 (255/50/19 for Sport). Going up to a 22" wheel will require a 35% profile tire, where do you get 10%? As long as the overall tire diameter is the same or close to stock, there is no problem with the odometer reading.
I personally would get stock size for winter/snow and get aftermarket for summer. I've been looking around for a light weight set of 20's which I believe would offer the best performance.

I agree 10% was an exageration but even 35 aspect ratio on an MDX would trash your ride quality. 20's are probably the limit to still have some sidewall left to soak up the bumps and still give you an SUV capability.

I hear you, lol. To each, their own. The wheels above make it look like a space ship, I think a wheel with multiple thin spokes would look better in a 22 though.
