Navigation Update Failed

I purchased the latest navigation DVD for my 2012 MDX. I installed it per instructions and then received error messages, old streets are now lakes, addresses are now dead ends and so on. Total mess.

I called the Acura Navigation Center and they told me that on their end my navigation DVD was installed correctly so I need to take my car to the dealership to be "recalibrated".

Called the dealership and they're all...recalibrated? They never heard of that.

I'm stuck with a $99 update disk that has me driving into buildings.

Are you still under the basic warranty to have Acura fix your Navi? I've done 2 Navi updates and both completed without a hitch.

I am still under warranty and will bring it in the end of this week. I just don't understand the run around and the epic fail of the upgrade. Thank you for your response.

With the +10 MDX, you now have to submit the VIN and Navi database version for the Navi update. Maybe Acura sent you an incorrect update or the disk was corrupted? I made a mistake when I did the last update and didn't start the MDX before inserting the disk. When the update was completed after 20 mins, I didn't have enough power to start the car and had to jump it. I just forgot how long it took from the last time on the MDX compared to about 5 mins on my RDX/TSX for updates.

Yes, I verified with the Acura Navigation Center that I had the correct version of the update installed. That's when he told me I had to recalibrate the car which is code for "I don't know what to do so I'll say anything to get off the phone with you."

Were you outside and had a clear view of the sky (no homes, building, powerlines, hills or mountains in the way). I think the GPS satellites need a min of 4 to get your exact location (within plus/minus 3-10m radius). Maybe the update might have missed a satellite and mis-calibrated during the update?

I was in a parking lot at a baseball field so the sky was clear all around me but there were small buildings around. I did try and re-install it in another location before I called in the problem but achieved the same results.
