MDX ATF filter replacement question

Hi I'm a proud owner of a 2003 MDX.

I have been writing threads on this forum for the last couple of days.......great site, I learned quite a bit.

I planning to change the two
  • 3rd Gear Pressure Switch / Sensor 28610-RAY-003 #13
  • 4th Gear Pressure Switch / Sensor 28600-RAY-003 #12
and
Temp Sensor 28650-RDK-003
since I got the codes read at the dealer and the result being the ATF Temp Sensor. (Yes, I am also planning to change the ATF).

But, My question is.................

Does a 2003 MDX have a ATF filter like in part number:
25450-P7W-003.

All input is appreciated......thanks in advance.

Non-serviceable on the 2003 MDX. You have to drop the trans to replace the filter.

I Think It's Possible - Tho I haven't Tried

I believe it can be accessed beneath the battery and air intake. See these links:

Like I said before. The ATF filter for the 2003-06 MDX is not serviceable. There is a serviceable ATF filter for the first gen trans on the 01-02 X's. The 03-06 filter is located internally adjacent from the valve body.

01-02 Trans w/ accessible filter

03-06 Trans w/ non accessible filter (notice no banjo fitting leading to filter canister as above)

How often should you change your ATF. I have an 06 MDX and it has not been changed.

i changed my transmission fluid when i purchased the car (pre-owned with 50k miles on it). it was very dirty (brown). i also have a 2006. buy a case of ATF - drain and fill 4 times to do a complete flush. in my opinion this should be done at least every 50k miles under normal use. maybe sooner if under heavy use or towing. i was looking forward to changing the filteralso until i read this thread...
