MDX Advance with radar detectors?

I recently purchased a 2010 MDX with the Advance package which has the CMBS, the adaptive cruise control, and the blind spot warning. I would like to purchase a radar detector for it but I dont know if the radar based equipment will give false positives to the radar detector making it useless.

Does anyone have experience with this?

Not with the 2010 MDX but I have a 2014 car with radar cruise control as well as blind spot warning. My Beltronics STi radar detector works just fine in the car with no false positives due to the radar cruise control system or blind spot warning radars.

There so many cars on the road with collision mitigation, blind spot monitoring, active cruise control, lane keeping assist, parking sensor, auto park assist, etc... It sounds like it is more the radar folks responsibility to keep up with changing technologies. Do you need the radar detector for hwy or city driving? There are even more false signals around town to add to ones from other vehicles.

We have a lot of unmonitored radar speed traps in the southwest like red light cameras that do speed checks and unmarked vans parked on the side of the road for several days and move to a new location. They had to make the polarized license plate covers illegal out here because the unmonitored systems could not read at off angles. Most hwy patrol folks moved to the point and shoot laser system or unmarked impound cars like a volvo to follow for miles to confirm speed before pulling you over. I even heard of fake police radar signals being sent out in certain areas randomly to slow down traffic if speed is an issue.

The only thing that saves me is the speed limit is 75 mph in the southwest (80-85 mph in some parts of TX) and they leave you alone if you are 5 mph or under.

The BSI (blind spot warning) system works by emitting radar frequency waves, and will cause certain brands and models of radar detectors to go crazy.

I have the Valentine one. What I did was auto mute rear k bands since I was getting constant alerts. Down arrow #7 to enable features and down arrow "G" to mute rear K-band. I believe A mode will let you use it like normal but when you put it in little L or L mode the customization will be in affect. I put it in the L mode when it is used in my 2011 Acura Advance.

btw if you were wondering there is a youtube video that shows how to do this. Valentine is much better with the auto mute for K bands

2013 Advance with a Passport 8500 X50 under the rear-view mirror. I haven't ecountered any issues with falsing unless I point it directly at the NAV screen.

Here's a pic of where I mounted mine:
