Leaky 2007 Tech Sport
Leaky 2007 Tech Sport
My 2007 Tech Sport has developed a leak into the cargo area just above the subwoofer. 4 trips to the dealer so far (every Thursday, 'cause that's when their "water doctor" comes in)- glad I have that cargo liner or my carpet would be moldy. They tried to fix it saying the water came in at the moonroof and replaced something but that didn't work. Now they say it's off to the body shop. Meanwhile I've got water stains on my headliner.
Has anyone had similar problems? What was the resolution? I've thought all along it's a clogged drain tube; they claim it's not.
Frustrated is an understatement.

Have they looked at TSB B08-009?
Gap Between Headliner and Tailgate Weatherstrip
SYMPTOM
There is a gap between the headliner and the tailgate
weatherstrip.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The rear lip of the headliner is rolled and not contacting
the weatherstrip properly.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Roll the rear edge of the headliner forward or, if
needed, replace the headliner.
Looking at the pictures on that TSb, it is possible water could get in through the weather striping. I have the TSB but I am unable to attach.

Good they fixed it, but what they told you about looking at the TSB was most likely BS:
Don't know if yours was related to the same TSB, but as per TSB:
Applies To: 2007 MDX – ALL
2008 MDX – From VIN 2HNYD28..8H500001 thru 2HNYD28..8H506382
I complained about my door handles sticking and popping, service rep tells me yeah they all do that, all they could do was lube them, I said there was a TSB, rep tells me not applicable to my car (I know it is). I tell service manager while test driving my car for another issue, he tells me same story, that they all do it when parked under the sun. I asked to take a look at the TSB and get back to me. They did and confirmed the issue and ordered the handles.

Really, really, really getting frustrated now. Left my sunroof open at rear (tilted position) overnight and got a quick downpour. No water on seats or console but, guess what? Water on the cargo mat - same place except now it's not coming in at subwoofer, the third row seatbelt above it was damp. Sound like there's a problem with the drain tube from the sunroof area. The only things keeping me from melting down completely are that the car is going in for service anyway plus they have stopped even trying to charge me for fixing the leak (I only paid the first time for labor).
Time to trade?
