iPod Issue with 2010 MDX

Connected my freshly updated iPod Touch Gen 2 to the MDX USB connector for the first time and it worked flawlessly...........disconnected the iPod for the day......went out the next day and it plays about three seconds of a song and then cuts out and says "USB Unsupported"

Manual says make sure your iPod is software is updated.......well this is updated to version 4 as of yesterday. Manual says anything past version 2 is fine.

What gives?

For some reason these cars don't seem to like Apple products. I've had plenty of problems with my iPhone, but never this one...hope you can sort it out.

IOS4 has been giving problems not only with the USB but with the hands-free systems as well. I'd suggest you try downgrading back to IOS3 and see if that solves the issue.

Yep. I updated to IOS4 and now I get the USB unsupported and get very low volume through bluetooth.

Did a little searching on the web and it sounds like we are not alone with this issue......unfortunately unless you backed up something called an SHSH blob from the OS3 BEFORE you upgraded to OS4 you are out of luck to downgrade to any of the OS3s from OS4. Once Apple comes out with a new OS they dont allow you to go back to try and cut down on jailbreaking...........I dont care about that I just think its rediculous for Apple to do this and effectively make a brand new 50K vehicle unable to play an iPod. I'm not a kid, I don't walk around with earbuds listening to music....I want it for my MDX for long trips etc. Feel like tossing the iPod in the trash bin and getting a knockoff.

Glad I don't have an iPhone.......have a Blackberry and its fine. Everyone give Microsoft such a hard time about their products and software.......well Apple may be more reliable but they aren't far behind in being a pain in the posterior with their software compatabilities

My iPhone 3GS worked great in my 2008 535i...the problem isn't with Apple, it is with the engineers behind Handsfreelink.

Is that with the version 4 software? My phone worked fine until I updated it.

3GS hasn't been fully compatible with HFL ever. It is basic things like being able to hear your voicemail through the handsfreelink and doing something like clicking on a "missed call" or a phone number in a text or email and having it dial through (through the HFL).

I didn't have it long enough to try the things you mentioned with the phone. However, it was disappointing that I had no control of music playback with the hands free.
