Converting 02 mdx to 06 mdx Headlights

I just ordered a set of used 06 mdx headlights that im going to install on an 02 mdx. i know i currently have 9006 bulbs but the 04-06 uses h11.

I am aware i can get an adapter for this from tim but i was reading and supposedly u can modify the 9006 plug to fit an h11? not quite sure if this is true or if anyone knows exactly what to do. im going to order an h11 HID kit for it as well.

I was also considering buying a set of h11 pigtails and just cutting off the current 9006 pigtails and solder the new ones in. Only reason id do it is to save a little cash since pigtails are pretty cheap.

Anyhow ill do it either way, just looking for suggestions and maybe some info on where i may find these parts...

thanks!

Cutting the pig tails and splicing is your best bet. You should be able to find the harness at any AutoZone or car accessories part.

NP ill get some and post em. It's the wifes vehicle so ill have to wait until she gets home. However she absolutely loves it! Not into cars by any means and was just overwhelmed with the lighting improvement. Close to my 06 TL...

I was thinking about doing this too. So all you did was buy the h11 pigtail and spliced it?

I'm trying to remove my headlight but not sure where all the bolts are. Did you have to remove the front bumper? could you do a quick write up in the steps to remove the headlight. couldn't find anything when i googled it.

Yea, you probably have to remove the bumper. There some bolts below the headlight.

Sorry for the delay with pics.. my wife has an 02 mdx nbp and i have the 06 tl nbp. Anyhow as far as a DIY, all that u have to do is remove the front bumper cover and the bolts the hold the headlight. Then cut off the 9006 bulb connector and solder or crimp together the H11 connector. So here are a couple pics of the finished product.

Umm yeah not so sure id do this, would make it a PITA if u ever changed the bulb. All you need to do is buy this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT

VERY cheap, even use bing cash back to make it a bit less haha like .64 cents but hey every bit helps. U may email him tho because i cant recall if this is just for one or 2. That is what i got, even comes with the butt connectors. I soldered mine. This is SOOO easy to do, if you just cut the 9006 connector off and spliced in the H11 connector it would seriously take u MAYBE 5 mins per side if that. I used a DVM to find which side was + and -. I ordered an HID H11 kit for them but all you really need to do is buy a set of H11 bulbs and your set. I got the HID cuz i fig'd while i had it all apart wth.

Lmk if you need any help... hell if you lived near me and had all the parts id do it all for ya

Definitely looks better than the outdated '02 Headlights. What about replacing the taillights?

I actually thot about that and the rear bumper as well as possibly the dual exhaust but since its the wife's vehicle she isnt really into modding like i am. She just drives it haha. She didnt really see the point of me doing the headlights at first until she seen the dif at night with the HID's. She loves the dif in brightness. As far as the ass end she said she would rather spend the money on stuff for our baby due july 31st haha. Makes sense. Now for me to break my habbit of modding my 3g tl!!
