compatible wheels for '08?

I'm looking for 18" wheels that are compatible for my '08. As I am aware, wheels should be 18"x8, 5x120 bolt pattern.

What offsets are valid? Tire Rack only lists MDX wheels with +40mm offset. On one other site I came across, it suggested that offsets 34-45mm were acceptable. Has anyone ever put on a +34 or +35 wheel?

I will be using this with a 235/60/r18 tire. Also, would there be any problems with 18"x7.5 or 18"x8.5 sized wheel?

Hopefully this link will help answer some of your offset clearance questions:

You can use +34 or +35 offset without issue on the 07+ MDX. Just be sure the center bore is 64.1mm or if larger use centering rings. 7.5 thru 8.5" width wheels will fit just fine. Be sure the wheels will accept TPMS and be ready to purchase another set of sensors if you're building a 2nd set and keeping the stocks for winter/summer.

If using the 235mm wide tire on an 8.5" wide rim, the tire will be stretched which will slightly lower the sidewall and overall tire height. This is not necessarily a bad thing, though it may not look quite right compated to the stock wheel/tire size.

Why are you using the 235/60 size tire...are these for winter use?

Yes they will be used for winter use so I'll have a set for winter and summer. Thanks for the info on the rims. Tire Rack only appears to sell rims that they feel would be compatible with your vehicle but they won't show you rims that are less than +40 offset. There are more rim options if I change my vehicle to the BMW 330 series although, as you mentioned, center bore may not be 64.1. I'll have to look into this.

you should consider RonJon Wheels, we are the only company who makes wheels specifically for Honda and Acura vehicles, down to the hubcentric centerbore. We also have a 38mm offset wheel if you prefer. We have the ability to customize the offset to a 32mm as well.
