Check the simple things first. Have the freon charge checked. Could be a slow leak from a tube fitting / compressor seals.

Can you confirm wether or not the A/C compressor clutch disengages or not?

Also, do the fans in the engine compartment stay on regardless if its blowing cool air or not?

Two most common things I see here around the shop that affects these MDXs:
1. Evaporator temperature sensor (located behind the glove compartment)
2. A/C pressure switch (located right between the engine comaprtment fuseblock and power steering return line into pump)

Lastly, look around online for the self-test you can do right on the HVAC control panel itself. Its pretty lengthy or else I would post it but a quick Google search should show you what/how to do it.

went to the dealer to check my A/C on my 04 MDX because it would blow hot air after 10 -15 minutes i was told i need to change the clutch and coil and relay and the dealer wanted 1198$ parts and labor are they sold as one or separate items i try to find the parts but came up with just clutch coil part # 38924-RCA-A01 or a/c compressor coil /stator set thanks

Now that you know the problem have a independent mechanic quote you. It might not be cheap but I'm sure it will be less then the dealer.
