Post 2011 MDX base vs 2011 4Runner Limited

I had the opportunity to test drive both vehicles. Overall, the MDX is way better in many ways. The 4Runner has its pros and cons but the downside is the power compared to the MDX. When I was getting onto the highway, I had to slam the gas pedal to get up to speed. On the MDX, I didnt have to slam the pedal when getting on the same highway. If your into offroad driving, the 4Runner will be the vehicle for you but driving onroad, stick with the MDX.

Thanks for the review. We got to compare the MDX to GX460 or at least RX350. 4Runner no way, it's not even match with the Pilots.

I drove a Porsche 911 turbo and a GMC Sierra 2500 HD. The Porsche is faster but the GMC tows more. Just another helpful comparison for you if you're comparing 2 unlike vehicles for purchase.

The 4Runner is pick up truck based. So its old school, but is more capable off road. If you don't plan on hard core off roading, you might as well stick with the MDX or Highlander. Too many compromises with the 4Runner. I did cross shop the 4Runner though and was tempted because it seemed more rugged, but ended up with the MDX because it handles so well for an SUV. Really well.

And also really fast for an SUV with V6 it's size (0 to 60 miles/hr in 6.5 second according to C&D)

Why would you even consider a car that is "Limited"?
