I just picked up a 2010 MDX Advance & Entertainment with silver roof rails and cross bars and I was wondering if anyone had any luck fitting a 21 cubic ft cargo box on the roof without interfering with the rear tailgate/hatch? I hear that the 16 cubic ft box fits best...which seems to be the "long roof box" that Acura offers.

I've been eying the Yakima SkyBox Pro 21 and I'm hoping it'd fit properly..

Anyone have any luck with this???

if the size is similar to the one acura offers then i'm sure it will fit well. just open the tailgate by hand first to make sure it won't hit

 

I have an Atlantis 2100, and I just bought a 2010 MDX with the Tech package, and got the silver roof rails. I held off on the cross bars since I already have the Thule cross bars, and footings that connect to the roof rails. Plus, the silver cross bars for the MDX are non adjustable, and in a fixed position, so your limited to some degree on where you want to place the cargo box even though it does slide forward, and backwards. I plan on sliding the Thule cross bars forward a little more than where the notches for the factory cross bars would fit. This way, I get the tailgate clearance.
