recently I've been having some issues with my mdx(2004) having to do with the transmission or so it seems. everything is fine until i come to a stop and then accelerate. I'll push on the gas pretty firmer and the car hardly moves in second, then it has this big thud, jerking the forward and revving the engine to approx 3000rpm. if anyone knows why the car is doing this it be a fantastic help if somebody at least had a clue to what i was talking about.

 

Check to make sure your tranny fluid didn't mix w/ Antifreeze. You could probably do that easily by looking into the Coolant Reservoir. If it is then your Radiator shot and it mixed into Tranny via tranny cooler section of it. If it's too bad you may have to replace your tranny.

 

I would replace the fluid, and see if that makes a difference. It could also be a bad shifting solenoid. Which is fairly easy to replace, and you can tell if you only have issues with only 1 gear change. How does it shift from 3rd to 4th gear? If it's only from 1-2, or 2-3 I would replace the solenoid.

 

When was the last time you had your engine mount checked/replace?
