'11 MDX Seat Memory
My MDX used to always adjust the seat between driver 1 and driver 2 when you unlocked the doors, and opened the driver door. All of a sudden, it is hit or miss. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
Not sure if both FOBs are dying at the same time, or if a problem with the seats.
Looking for any help.

check the mirror actuators. do they tilt in reverse? are they stuttering when they position down or reposition back to driver setting?
the side mirrors, steering wheel, seat, and driver settings are all part of the same system.
if the side mirrors are working improperly, the rest of the system suffers.
i've had two failed passenger side mirror motors and one on the driver's side so far. everytime the system acted up the steering wheel would not telescope.
the other issue could be a failing battery as well. sometimes if the battery is dying weird electrical things start occuring.
or one other...the remote is not syncing properly with the car.

the mirrors work fine..........once the seats work.....so, my wife drives the car most of the time....in the past, I used to unlock with my FOB (#2), and when I opened the door to enter the car, the seat and mirrors would move. Now, about 50% of the time, I open the door and nothing happens (still set for my wife). I lock-unlock again once or twice, and then it happens. Now, it is happening the other way also (when my wife goes to use the car after I've had it).
I am not getting any indications of low battery. Car starts right up, no warnings on the dash, no nothing. Also, the seat works what seems to be every other time for me. My wife just noticed it today for the first time.
I tested the battery with my own tester, and it reads 100% charge. Maybe it is the battery in the FOB ?.

If the main car battery is fine then I guess checking the fob batteries would be the next thing. If you are still under warranty, then maybe just replicate the problem in front of the dealer's service tech ? Though if it is fob batteries, they might charge you to replace .... If it is something on the car itself that is failing, they should be able to diagnose and fix.

BUT did you check to see how both are operating when in reverse then back to park or drive?
it's unlikely the key fob but always a chance. i am the only driver of my MDX. i've used the driver one key fob exclusively. the PO used both (hubby/wife). the only way i would know something was not right is if the steering wheel failed to telescope when i put the key in the ignition or if the driver 1 light on the door was not lit up. once i had the mirrors fixed i have not had any issues since.
the only other thing would be that the fob is not talking to the car.

i dont' know about the code storage, but....i've had THREE mirror actuators (2 PS, 1 DS) replaced...so far...all is well.
my symptoms: stuttering mirrors when tilting in reverse (either going down or returning to position), intermittent steering wheel telescoping to driver setting, intermittent non communication of FOB to car when unlocking, and occasional issues with pressing driver one memory seating button (press it and it would either telescope wheel appropriately or intermittently telescope with repetitive pushing or said button).
SO....in case you might have future issues with failing mirror actuators....these are possible issues that might crop up aside from memory seat setting not doing what it's suppose to do.
glad the dealer fixed it
