Hi,

I did a lot of research on the haunted 01-02 MDX tranny and the P1740 4th Gear Clutch cel code but I was wondering if I can get a fellow MDX'er's advice.
I just recently bought my 02MDX at 115xxx miles and so far it runs great. No problems at all that I feel while driving on the street or highway and no check engine light but with my OBD2 tool, it shows the P1740 cel code.
My questions are as follows:

I need to smog it to get it registered under my name, without a check engine light on but with that cel, would it pass CA smog?
Is this worth getting looked at or should I just cut my losses and sell it ASAP?
Should I contact Acura to see what they can offer?
Has anyone with the same tranny ever fixed the issue?

I was in a hurry buying the car because I needed the third row seating for my new baby girl and now I wished I brought my OBD2 sensor with me and did more research on the 02 model before handing over the cash. The asshole who sold it to me also said it was already smogged within the 90 days of purchase so I didnt need to, that was false.

Any help would be appreciated.
