For anyone interested, they have a coupon "TAXDAY" that is 15% off orders over $50. I just put in my order, came out to $63.39 shipped. Might be a today only coupon, otherwise, GOJDM is good for 10% off.

Glad it could help someone out . I just checked, looks like the sale is still on at the moment for anyone else who is interested.
Also, The Machine, from what you mentioned about switching up the bulbs, it sounds like you can use different bulbs than the ones the kit comes with? As in, if I wanted to switch to a whiter bulb that I got from somewhere else I could?

Yes, you can. I have a set of bulbs from ebay that are more towards the 5k white side and they worked just fine with the kit. I just switched them up when insatlling them. I kinda like the 6k look myself for the DRL's but the 5k would look just as nice.

So I got my package today and boy was I disappointed in ijdmtoy's shipping. They shipped my item in a USPS envelope, AN ENVELOPE! Not a box! but an envelope. Something as fragile as lighting, they chose envelope. The envelope arrived at my house ripped/tore open. Was this the same method shipped to you guys? I won't be able to tell if this was damaged or not since I am going on vacation and won't be able to install them.
At the same time I receive my Morimoto HID's from TRS and they know how to package. All item was neatly in a small box with peanuts. iJDMtoy need to learn to package from them.

Installed
These came (in an envelope, but bulbs in a box) today, and I put them in this afternoon, following the great instructions above. Install went pretty smooth, but i gotta say, the passenger side halogen was crazy tight. I figured I must be doing something wrong, but after coming in a searching AZ, I found out it's just really tight. Some leather gloves made it easier to apply more pressure, and it finally came out. No other issues and the lights came on perfectly first try and no DRL light on the dash!

Looks great! Glad the install went well for you.
I'm surprised you had trouble with the passenger side. That came right out for me. The driver side was the pain in the ass, trying to get the halogen bulb out and then having the LED bulb seat properly putting it back in.

Yea, after I got the driver side bulb out in only about 2 minutes, I thought it would go quickly after that. The damn thing was just lodged in there super tight. I probably just got lucky getting the LED bulbs to seat correctly. I was just kind of feeling around while looking at the bulb through the headlight housing to make sure it was straight in.
Took a short drive afterwards and loved looking at the lights reflect off the cars stopped in front of me!
I might like a whiter bulb though, but I wouldn't want it to be any dimmer. Are the white lights you have as bright as the ones that came in the kit?

TIA.

I'm far from the expert here, but after doing the install I don't see how having one relay already there would have any effect on installing another. But this is a question better left to people more knowledgeable about this.
Also, what bulbs are you ordering? The bulbs that come with it are slightly blue already. I'm actually considering switching to a whiter bulb.

The bulbs that come with the kit are 68 SMT and they have some pretty good output. If you're putting in 104 SMT, they will be really bright. And no, it won't change the install at all. The bulb will just be longer because there are more LEDs on the tree, but there is plenty of room in the housing so you'll be fine.

sup guys i have this kit for 2 months now, me and my buddy tried installing it but no luck, no light and with drl light on the dash...thank you for the diy let me tackle this bitch again.
oh yeah when i ordered mines 2 months ago it didn't have the load resistors so i guess that makes them not work?
oh yeah mines came in a freaking envelope!!!

Thanks! No moderators have commented in here about the write up, so I doubt it's going in the 3G Garage anytime soon, lol.

Burning Brakes
ok im gonna explain to you guys why the process isnt as simple as swapping out the bulbs. the DRL needs to detect a certain load from the bulb otherwise it will think the bulb is dead, the concept is very similar to turn signal hyperflashing. Except in this case, instead of hyperflashing, the DRL will shut off because you wouldn't want only one side DRL to come on. So that is why those gold resistors are needed. It produces the resistance a normal halogen bulb would give since now you have LEDs. Okay, so you ask, why is there a harness, why not just have the resistors and install the LED bulbs? The difference is that DRL stock voltage is 6v for half the power of a regular 12v bulb. If you plug in the LED like that, it's not going to be very bright at all. Ever seen LEDs on cars like the honda civic(06-11)? or the TSX(09+)? Those cars you can straight up just swap to LED bulbs, and it will only power it at 6v without needing any harness or resistor. It looks really dim. So in order for the DRL to be bright, it uses a relay harness. What that does is once it senses the 6v from the DRL, it will trigger the relay to give your new LED bulbs power straight from the battery, hence the battery connection on the harness. So that is why these harnesses allow our TLs to have such bright DRLs. I hope you guys understand now, I took awhile trying to reverse engineer the harness and I finally understand how and why it works. I actually got it free from ijdmtoy because I was there in person buying switchbacks and the owner saw my car and wanted to test fit the harness on my car so he gave it to me for free.

i will never deal with ijdmtoy again. They assured me multiple times that the harness they were sending me will not trigger the drl light on the dash... low and behold, the drl light is on. So i called them making sure they were installed correctly (they were according to them as well as this diy) and told them i was unhappy and didnt want them in my car. They said i would have to pay a 20% restocking fee plus pay for shipping.. complete bs and bad customer service!
Fyi the guy i talked to to verify the installation told me that this kit was not guaranteed to work and they were having issues with the drl light and computer.. They need to get stuff straight over there with the sales people because that was the most frustrating part of the whole thing.

got mine 3 months ago ... i dont know when they updated the module, but regarless, the way they talked to me is unacceptable. I worked in retail for a long time and i would have never even thought about talking to a customer that way..

Even if I did... And they clearly could determine through the tech that i was talking to that it was installed right, they should have known that it was the old kit rather than basically saying fuck off and dry and charge me a restocking fee... Like I said, just bad customer service

hrmm..thinking about replacing the bulb with something like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-X-9005-HB3...ht_1690wt_1163
not sure how it would look tho. i don't really like the 5-6k for the drl

Anyone have a good eBay seller they know of for these kind of bulbs? I'm thinking I want a 120LED 5000k looking bulb. The included bulb works well enough, but I would like to see if I can get a brighter, whiter bulb.

I won't matter how many "harnesses" you run off the battery. The alternator may take a toll recharging the battery if too many devices are added and you may see slight battery fatigue earlier than normal. couple months over 2-3 years maybe.
I was just thinking this since I will be doing different DRL's and also the independant fog switch mod. I will most likely just run 1 wire off my battery to terminal (kinda like running 1 power cable then splitting it to different amps) except just run to a "power strip" then tying in relays through that.
Make sure relay is in good working condition and that is only triggered powered when the key is in on/acc position to not drain battery.
I would like to see pics of the 6k with switchbacks or if possible 5k with 5k switchbacks.
I will be going 5k headlights down from 8k and my switchbacks are 5k.

They are the same 68 SMD as the ones that come with the kit, except they are 5k color. But the seller is very good, I bought some other LEDs from them before and have not had a problem at all. Their stuff ships pretty quickly as well!

Just ended up installing this kit. Everything works great, bright as hell and no DRL error code.
Will post some pics soon.
In the meantime where did you guys ended up installing the driver's side resistor. Tried finding a good spot to screw it on to but with the damn battery in the way can't get the drill in there...

Hey guys,
I was having difficulty installing the DRL so I just went to my local shop to get it done. However, the mechanic there said there was an issue with the relay. He said there is no power from the ground going to the relay. Has anyone have that issue before?
