Richie, I'd like to get in on the summer sale price but our car just went in this afternoon for the 3rd gear fix under warranty. I asked the dealer to check the clutch since the gearbox is out. If it's fine and doesn't need replacing I'll have enough budget to get the V2 J pipe.

Can I put a deposit down to fix in the price for a couple of days, since the special pricing ends tomorrow? If so, how would I go about putting down the deposit? I sent you a PM as well.

I am a little surprised Mike has not chimed in.

I think we all knew sales would gravitate toward Richie once his product was released. Richie had the low cost country labor rate advantage and as a smart business man ran with it. I really hate to say this, but those that outsource to low cost countries have a significant competitive advantage. Smart move Richie! Be sure to offer your example during those behavioral based interviews. The purchasing guys will want to hire you.

Still very pleased with the install. I did some driving from Joliet into the city and with Richie's products and the IM spacer mod along with the Sprint Booster - woohoo! It's like the car is a new beast! Really! Thanks again Richie!

Installed after work today. Took me about 2 hours. I didn't have access to a lift, so it took longer for me to ease the J-pipe & test pipe combo in there. Fitment was perfect. I'm glad Richie provided new nuts and bolts. The old nuts/bolts came lose after soaking in PB Blaster; however, they would have been a pain to reuse as they were still rusted requiring a wrench all the way out.

Started the car up after the install. The tone is distinctly lower. There is an exhaust note after you take your foot off the gas and the engine goes back to idle. Guessing the tone difference is due to the test pipe eliminating the 3rd cat which used to muffled the sound more. The noise comes directly out of the tailpipes and you can tell the stock exhaust is pretty restricting. The overall noise is still very quiet and only distinguishable when you're on the throttle hard.

I let it idle for 10 minutes and then took it for a spin. The computer probably hasn't fully adjusted to the mod but I can definitely tell there is more torque. I live on steep hills and the car climbs them more easily without having to downshift as much even when I input more throttle. It's now able to stay in the 2-3k RPM range all the way up while accelerating in same gear as opposed to downshifting for more power.

Under wide open throttle up to the redline from a stop, the power delivery is noticeably smoother throughout the rev band. I can feel more torque arriving before the Vtec kicks which makes the transition less spiky.

I've yet to put the car on the highway though. I'll see tomorrow on my 20 mile highway commute up north. Other than the J-Pipe/Test pipe, my '05 Auto TL is stock with regards to engine modifications. I'm tempted to run a CAI and Catback now to fully take advantage of Richie's J-pipe/Test pipe gains.

Thanks again Richie. Fitment is superb!

The stock exhaust canisters themselves are not that restrictive. They're actually pretty good. What you notice in restriction is from the cat back. Replace all piping from the cat back to where the exhaust pipe splits and you'll notice no restriction.

Have you done the IM Spacer Mod? This in combination to your CAI and P2R makes a HUGE difference. (more air in/out)

Why? He's taking the higher road. Doesn't matter. This is the RV6 J pipe V2 thread... Mike has his own ATLP J pipe V2 thread.

3rd gear set replaced under warranty and dealer says clutch is fine, so there's budget available! Just placed the order for the V2 J-Pipe and Test pipe tonight so our TL will have it's very first mod in the next few weeks!

I'll probably remove the mid muffler at the same time, but I may put another resonator in it's place as I plan to replace the stock mufflers down the road and don't want it too loud (wife drives the car mostly).

Thanks again Richie!

it is me or i got the bad one? I try to install the j pipe in today but it do not fit. I try to install the first head of the jpipe first but the second one won't fit it. To me it look like it's off by .5mm. Its made out of steel so there is no way i try to flex left to right or pull it.

i was able to get all the nuts off, but i cant get the j pipe in lol...richie said u have to loose the precat so it can move a little bit than slide it in. I use long metal to open the nuts, it will have more torque.

mission accomplish...

So i test drive the car and getting some gas on the way. I think the j pipe gain more MPG? because it has more flow and not restrict as oem. I do feel the torque and power, the car respond much more quicker than before. As for sound, the engine sound very good...now i need a cat back system to make it sound richer.

Richie thanks for the product and the best price in town. So far i don't want to go back to oem.

I have the Type S too and upgrade from OEM to RV6 j pipe and test pipe. I definitely feel the gain from the upgrade, it make the car sound more beasty. Remember to loose the front precat a little bit so you can slip the j pipe in, i also see gain in MPG ( i need some one chime in on this one), but so far i am a happy camper.

so i finally got it installed .. only 40 bucks thanks to a friend !

i have the j-pipe with Race pipe ..

THOUGHTS: seems to pull harder and is more responsive on the throttle .. nothing huge tho hopefully more of a response once i get more cash and get the ATLP exhaust,
oh and for those who are wondering about the sound , i have the race pipe and cant tell a difference at all , maybe some nice low notes when i turn the car off but not during driving ,I have a CAI so under WOT all u can hear is that thing screaming anyway

basically for those who are wondering if this changes the exhaust note .. i say on the very very minimum

hats off to richie for a great product

Installed my jpipe and test pipe yesterday in my backyard. Easy install just a lack of space with the car jacked up (lift would be perfect). Perfect fitment and there is a nice new tone to the exhaust. Needless to say the drive to work today was very interesting!!! Great Product
