Haha. I haven't even tried getting it in the driveway, its not worth the aggravation. Luckily I live in a col de sac and its really quiet here. I can work on/wash it up there without any issues.
On a lighter note, my cousin came over yesterday evening and he luckily was able to get down the driveway and into the carport lol. We added rear a-spec lip, USR smoked side markers, and USR clear tails.
I LOVE how these tails look on the SSM. I wish I had an SSM JUST because of these tails. I wonder how they would look on my car.
Artsy but it didn't really work out lol.

I don't know if it's cause of the contrast on NBP but MAN did I get hated on when I had the ghost tails on my car. Too much chrome in the corners, I guess. I still dig the smoked much better!
Especially if you have a lighter car.
Although, on SSM, with cleared headlights, I do agree that it looks clean.

2 Memphis 12's in a ported box?!?! G'damnnnn that's some quad!

Well, hit a small milestone last night on the way home. Rolled over to 130,000 miles! I bought her with 110,000 and this 20k is the most mileage I have put on any car. I typically don't keep a car more than 6 months or a year maximum, but the TL for some reason or another made the cut. Its been about a year and a half
Also picked up this 00' GS300 today. It came slammed (more slammed than my car) on coilovers and with those tail lights installed. Got a good deal on it and I used to really like them a lot actually but I'll be shipping it to Dubai in the next couple days. Theres a pretty good market for Lexus's there and it will be resold.
These old Lexus's really last forever; this has over 230k miles but still drives pretty well. A little bouncy but I blame the coilovers. It actually made it in the driveway later despite being slammed.

I know right! The drop is just about perfectly even.
I think I will lower it a bit more before the meet if I don't get my Works on. If I get the works on, who knows what it'll look like
What are your prep plans for the meet? I need to get my wheels polished and a full detail!!

Is it just me, or does the TL look better dropped than the Lexus?

Nice updates. After all the shipping/export costs, it's still worth the effort to ship that GA to Dubai? I assume shipping an entire vehicle isn't cheap.

They get sold in the market in Dubai to people from other countries. Thats the cool thing about Dubai; people come from all around the world to buy cars and export them back to their markets. Some cars end up being sold for the local market in Dubai, but only a small percentage
apparently i need to take my headlight back apart and get the moisture out of it... pissing me off. hoping to get that done sometime before saturday or saturday but thats cutting it close for me.. then wash and wax and ill be ready.

Actually, you'd be surprised. We ship in 40 foot containers, so you divide the cost among how ever many cars you can fit in the container. Typically with these lexus's we do 4 cars and it comes out to about $500-700 just for shipping per car. I used to do toyota corollas and we could fit 6 of those lol.
#222
That's true...the more cars the better. I deal a lot with export for my job, so I'm familiar with 40' containers, but I still can't fathom how you can fit 6 Corollas in there unless you're literally stacking them on top of each other...that's crazy! The length of a Lexus GS300 is roughly 16 feet, so you could safely fit 3 of them end-to-end in a 40' ctr. How do you fit in the 4th??
Hahaha it's ptty crazy stuff actually.
The corollas we actually would stack them on top of each other. You basically drive three in and hang them up by the wheels (wheels are removed, chains hooked to wheel studs and then lug nuts installed over them) and then you drive the other three in right under. We would typically let the air out of the tires of the bottom three to allow for extra clearance lol. BUT In order for this to work we had hired day laborers to remove all the bumpers, head/tail lights and what not and they would basically still have to touch each other in the container lol.
I shipped over 300 of them in the last three years this way
As for this Lexus's, the back wheels are on the ground and the front in the air. So it would look kind of like this "////" lol if that makes sense.

Holy crap that is crazy! Makes sense though, you gotta fit as much in there as possible. You probably know this, but you can get "high cube" 40' ctrs. from the ocean lines that are about 10" taller than standard 40' ctrs. The shipping costs are the same for either one.

For those of you who weren't there, here are some pics thanks to Morgan (civicdrivr) and John (ebelp) from this past weekend.
Mischief.tv meet in Manassas, VA.
Didn't get a chance to do anything special to the car before the meet, just a quick wash, cleaned the wheels, and polished exhaust tips. I wanted to lower it a bit more before going to the meet but didn't get a chance to.
And here's a couple I took of the group with my iPhone

Great shots of the car, so jealous that you guys can all get together. We got to get our meet status up down in Sofla!
PS, I'm kinda in agreement on the plate relocation. Holy hell, that really makes me appreciate a state where I don't need one. How about just throwing it on the dash when you see the cops?

On another note;
Ran into a bit of a problem today. I can't find anywhere to get my alignment done. I have called/been to 4 different Firestones, 2 Mr. Tire, Merchants, NTB, Pep Boys, and probably a few other places I can't remember. (the guy at Mr. Tire asked me if I cut my springs ) Everyone just took one look at my car and were like "NOPE! Find a custom place."
Pretty lame. I found a couple custom shops like PTuning in Manassas but they want to charge $120 for a one time alignment. Crazy much? I want Firestone's LIFTIME for $180. I expect to be getting it done about every oil change. (5K Miles)
Anyone have any bright ideas? I need to get this ASAP because the TL is my DD and I've already put about 350 miles on it since I got the coilovers installed.

The bottom line is you need to find a shop with an in ground lift...it's not rocket science, just makes them think outside the box a little. And if thinking was their forte', they probably wouldn't be grease monkeys! (no offense to any other grease monkeys)

I have the same issues.....most of the places around here can't fit my car on their racks because I'm so low. You aren't as low as me though, so I'm a little surprised that everyone is turning you down. The other problem I have is that the one place that CAN fit my car on the rack can only align my car with the stock wheels on and no spacers. My Works are too wide and sit too close to the fenders with the spacers, so they can't fit the heads on the wheels the way it sits now. Anyway, good luck....you may have to talk them into it. There's gotta be someone with rack that'll fit your car. You aren't any lower than a stock Corvette, and I'm pretty sure those can be aligned at your normal chain alignment shop...
