8 is max quoted for a used S/M52. I have ARP studs and a beefier head gasket. The builder says stay under 10.

I think one or 2 smaller might be where it lands

Is the current, smaller belt slipping under WOT?
What do you estimate the WHP is at 5lbs?

It does not seem to be slipping, It "feels" loose. I need to be able to drive it without fear of losing the belt is why I say I may land smaller.

No clue what the HP is. It feels pretty damn good. Eventually I will get a dyno. First, need an alignment, and to button up the interior among other things.

Last Saturday I went to replace my spark plugs, the first plug I pulled front of the engine, driver side had a huge amount of oil in it.

Auto Nation Tempe, did the Cam Tower repair 4/6/23. I called to make an appointment to get it fixed under their 12 month, 12k warranty, (it is under 7k miles) they hemmed & hawed about paying for a loaner. I said the spark plug tubes were not leaking when I gave it to them ergo they messed it up.

I am awaiting a call back from the service manager.

The manager called, said I have to get it in by Saturday, there is no "grandfathering" from making the appointment last month. I said I have an appointment Saturday, now I have to change my alignment appointment Saturday at 9am to bring this in at 7am.

Wheee!

The sensor for the AFR/boost gauge is defective. Reads 22.4 when revved and 7.4 at idle.

Searched forums, found it's a known issue if the gauge does not like the ground.

Opened the pita to open center console ran the ground to a bolt holding the gas pedal assy on the car, no change. As I bought the PSB1 direct, called Innovate. After some drama, they are sending another O2 sensor.

I have one I bought for the Sequoia that disappeared, searched and searched, then it occurred to me I put the new one in the box the gauge came in.

Mystery solved!

Got the PSB1 "working" but it's readings make no sense. 10.x at idle up to 15 at throttle. WTF?

Took the Tree to Toyota, I get they have to verify themselves but (A) who makes up a spark plug tube full of oil & (B) who opens a valve cover to damage the gasket?

They determined it needs to be replaced & gave me a '24 Highlander loaner. (last year it was a '23 Tacoma)

On the way home I called Firestone. They got me in, I dropped the Z off on the way to the airport to drop my Daughter and it was ready when I got home.

It feels amazing!

Autonation Tempe are thieves, they say the Valve cover gasket on the passenger side is bad as is the front passenger LCA, they did the driver LCA last year, I did not think it made sense not doing both then (they did not do them last year) Makes no sense in under 6k miles they magically went bad. They want 2k to do both, I ordered the gaskets for 40 & am looking for the LCA.

Felt a bit more in back was warranted, got 25mm, it's perfect!

Sitting a bit high as it has not been moved since jacking it up.

First oil change, magnetic drain plug did a good job, surprisingly clean considering it's a new motor.

I know it is a waste but sending a sample to Blackstone.

Motor is "done" all is well & it is amazing!

Meanwhile, back at the Tree, I replaced the Flex ECU with a non flex, I had already deactivated/removed/bypassed all the mechanical flex systems.

Just drove 40 minutes each way to drop the M vent panels at the body shop, he said he needs the car to paint them, I said I thought you could figure the color, that's why I came in the car. He looked me dead in the eye, said do you know what color this is? I said Atlanta Blau metallic #306? He said NO! It is NIGHTMARE BLUE. I need the car.

lol

I left them so he can start the preparation & will drop it off in a week or 2 when it is absolutely too hot to drive.

I'm ok making sure it matches.

Brakes were new when I bought the Tree, (unbeknownst to me) I bought new brakes before I got it. I have had worsening shudder on the freeway so figured the rotors were warped & just installed them.

New pad on the right, I put 25k miles on them, kinda shocking how much is left.
