Forgot something hit the tree on the way.

Didn't make any noise I hoped it was foam before forgetting about it.

No dent but won't just wipe off.

They're copper coated steel nuts, deformed to an oval shape on the side opposite the flange to make them self-locking. Just another 1 time use piece of hardware thanks to the ever efficient Germans

The SC mount replaces the alternator bolts, and the power steering pump needs spacers due to the S54 oil filter housing.

I hope it goes in like this, getting the belt on was a massive pain in the butt!

Had to release the outside PS pump bolt & hold the tensioner as far as it would go with a gigantic breaker bar on my long ratchet (with my shoulder) while levering the belt on with a screwdriver.

Thanks, I need to do all the fluids and am doing the rear subframe mounts which requires removal of the rear end and brakes, I have to bleed the hydraulic system including the clutch slave so that's next. The rear shocks and springs will go in when it goes back together.

Also. Mock up....

I just got the motor 10 days ago. lol

All the little things are going slowly plus I'm doing the differential, subframe & lower control arm bushings and rear suspension so while I want it running, not rushing it.

If you were the UPS and the motor was you, there would be some furious emails and phone calls.

Why didn't you step the accessory belt up an inch?

Just caught up on this adventure. You waste little time and have dove in head first with this build. It is turning out quite nice. The black/blue interior looks way better than the tan. All your hard work will pay off once it is buttoned up and able to enjoy it! Looks fun, kinda...

I was already not looking forward to dropping the subframe and your synopsis yesterday really cemented that thought.

What bushings are you going with on the subframe? Are you doing anything to address the rear camber?

It's going in at the pace it's going in.

Not sure what you mean about the belt.

Not sure what the camber options are.

It runs! The DME needs to learn so it needs to warm up, & it's open headers so sounds like a P51 (which is pretty cool actually)

Finally found blanks that fit the M console.

That sucks! It seems when I order random stupid stuff from Amazon, it comes the next day early but if I "need" it, it gets lost; can't imagine if I paid express rates.

Starts right up but does not idle. I emailed the tuner asking if he sees anything in the file needing attention.

27 year old MAF is the issue, verified by removing it & it idles. I had a cheap Amazon on hand & it runs fine. Ordered a new OEM.

sometimes crud on the little wire can throw that off.
you can try cleaning it but sounds like you got it licked.
