We saw a red FR-S at lunch. Co-worker was shocked when I told him it was a Scion.
I need to get out & test drive one.

Sales pending on my Advan wheels.
Local guy paypaled me $100 deposit to hold til next Friday. The deal was $1100 cash pick up.
Yayyyyy
Forgot about the final drive. Yes, I'm certainly planning to do that.
UEL Header broseph. It's there!
Make sure to test drive the FRS, not tC.

Btw, I like the black roof, but wait until you have more mods that support that look.

Just changed it. First time doing anything under the hood. Everything's so small and cute in this car. lol The hood is so light. I think it's made of aluminum or something. I noticed that the car being very low is a plus when working under the hood. :
I'm sure I won't be able to notice the added 5 hp, but who cares. It's there.

And man.. I think this is one of the nicest FRS. The black one..
I really want that finish on the wheels. That's exactly what I want. 17x9 +35 SBC finish. Apparently that's a little hard to find.

Like i said before, you have to do a lot to pull off the 17" look.
Knowing you, i am not sure you would slam your car to make the 17" look good.
I personally think the 18" looks just perfect. You will have good drivability and looks.

Hood is made of aluminum, no?
for mods! No need for an actual intake I guess, since the stock one flows so well. I was surprised by the amount of intake noise from my friend's BRZ as well (in a good way).

Aaron - don't lean too hard on the car, the aluminum is thin and dents easily.
Also, the stock intake is loud because of that dumb sound tube that leads into the cabin. I yanked that thing out.

But I'm pretty set on 17" with fat tire look for this car. It's also lighter than 18".
I always wanted this spec on rpf1. And if anything, I can easily change it out for something else in the future. You know the wheels are the easiest thing to swap around!
So, I got quotes for RPF1s from the local shop that organized the track events. It's called CounterSpace Garage.
RPF1 17x9 +35 Silver or Black
$1055 pick up
RPF1 17x9 +35 SBC
$1400 pick up
I'm so indecisive. Can't make up my mind. The SBC finish is apparently pretty hard to find. They did a groupbuy on it for 10 sets, and it's the last set that they have right now.
My wife likes the SBC finish obviously. She said the black color looks too boy racer-ish. If I get a silver set, I can always powder coat them in red or blue or something even more obnoxious in the future for fun.
I don't know. We'll see.

If you don't care about the extra $350, then of course SBC,
between silver and black, go with the silver. 17" is pretty small already, black will make them look like 16"

Another one in my sight.
Wedsport TC105N 17x9 +35
$1699 Shipped
This is like 15lb per wheel. Insanely light..
This is pretty cool too but not light at all, even though it's Gram Light.
The Gram Lights 57XTREME
$1588 shipped

The RPF1s look better than those two. SBC or silver.
Also, not sure if the specs will work for you, but a set of Motegi Traklite 2.0's (17x8 +45) weigh 14lbs, and come in a nice six spoke design.

Jeez... so, I'm going to go check out this local guy who is selling his RPF1 Tony Angelo Black Edition 18x9.5 +38 / V12 255/35/18 with less than 2000 miles for $1200 + stockies...
I know it's not what I want but this is pretty good deal.. Googled the weight of this size and it's only 18 lbs.. wtf it's light.
He's selling the TOM's RED for $400 too..

Black wheels
I like the TC105s out of everything you've posted. I know they are fairly common for your platform but I'm sick of seeing RPF1s everywhere

TC105s is a really good set too.
This seller said his rpf1s are some type of limited edition and it really is. Tony Angelo Black Edition. I don't know who tony angelo is anyway.
And oh, it's 17.6 lbs per wheel. Woah.

Because the stock suspension set up is actually EXTREMELY balanced.
The stock wheels are heavy and ugly. The stock tires belong to Prius. That's why I'm trying to get these changed asap. haha

Just did my first track event last Saturday.
I'm looking to participate on at least 6 more this year.
Trying to find out how to participate on local Auto X sessions as well. I've never done Auto X before.

Nevermind. You are in SD. I was on my tapatalk, didn't show your location.
Yeah man, let's see how it is. Will look into that site sarlacc posted.
Do you think you will ever come out to the track events around here sometimes? It's a bit far from San Diego though. But I know some 86 members come out from SD. It'll be fun if we can go together man! You can certainly learn and explore the limits of your car without much problem at the track! The worst thing you can do is spin out. haha

So good news and bad news.
Bad news first
The person who was supposed to purchase my Advan wheels backed out.
Good news
He actually offered me free track event for this saturday at SOW.. haha its the same track that I went last week but it'll be CW this time. He said sorry and just offered it to me.
AND he owns a modified FRS and tracks his car very often. He's sponsored by some aftermarket brands.
He actually offered me a pretty much brand new set of front Project Mu club racer pads for 50 bucks. It's like +200 bucks brand new which I was actually thinking about buying for my car..
So yeah, I got pretty lucky.
Anyway, going back to the track this Saturday!

This is the local region here in the LA/OC area. They have events primarily at AAA Speedway (mostly in the winter season) and El Toro (mostly in the summer season). Very good group of people. I started autox'ing back in 1998 with them. If you don't do anything to your car (this includes the wheels), your car is in the C-Street class. If you need more info, just ask. Or you can go on their forum (http://forums.solo2.com) and get more info too.
Would love to join you this Saturday, but it's Chinese New Year. So I won't be able to go.
