My New (To Me) '05 Abyss Blue Pearl TL!!
So I just purchased this car a month ago and I'm loving the way it drives!
I'm currently in the process of thinking of some mods now. I think for now I'll get the windows tinted and change the exhaust to a stage 3.
Kinda bummed out but I just found out Acura discontinued making parts in this color so I'll have to paint the aspec kit I put on it later in the future.
I love this car regardless, very clean and well taken care of

Congrats! Car looks like it's clean! Paint and wheels look like they're in good shape. I got my TL in October and the wheels are pretty badly curbed and front bumper isn't in the greatest shape.
I would suggest looking at doing some preventative maintenance and general maintenance before dumping money into mods. Trust me. I am currently doing both and paying for the car, so my wallet has taken a hit.
Here are the items I have had to replace in 4 months of owning:
That cost does not include the mods I have done/in progress:
As you can see, I have let things get out of hand.
I believe my sentiment will be echoed by many on the forums, but for now, you should look at maintenance over mods. Your car is now 11 years old, mine is 10. As reliable as these cars are, they still all have common issues. The engine on this thing will run forever, but if you have a 5AT, I would make sure to take care of the 3x3 and pressure switches ASAP. It made a huge difference for me. This weekend I realized my remaining shifting issue was due to my transmission top mount being torn. I have ordered the part and hope to replace this weekend.
I have gone a little crazy with this car, but I want everything perfect and I am willing to spend the money to get there. Being a perfectionist is a gift and a curse.
Window tint is probably not a bad investment though. Our dashes are prone to cracking, so if you can keep the temps down on the inside during the summers, tint is probably a good idea. I plan to have mine done before summer hits here. In the mean time, get some 303 Aerospace Protectant on the dash and keep the ArmorAll away!
How many miles are on your car? I would make sure the timing belt, water pump, and the rest of the 105k maintenance was done if you are floating around that mileage.

Here are the items I have had to replace in 4 months of owning:
- Rear O2 sensor (went 7 days into owning) - free under dealer good will, wanted to charge $400 to replace (lol)
- Battery (went 10 days into owning) - $210, got an AGM battery
- Starter (went 2 weeks ago) - $150
- Gates kit for Serpentine belt, tensioner, and idler pulley - $70
- Spark Plugs, NGK Iridium - $60-70
- Transmission Pressure switches - $90-100
- 3x3 Transmission Fluid drain and refill - $100, but I bought a 12 pack of DW-1
- Transmission filter and components - ~$20
- Front Lower Control Arms compliance bushings - $450 (I got ripped a little on this one, but I trust the place that did them, only item I have paid for)
- Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor - $155
- Rear pads and rotors - ~$120
- Transmission upper mount - $40
- Stabilizer bar bushing - $5
- Probably a few misc items I am missing
That cost does not include the mods I have done/in progress:
- Tein Street Advance Z coilovers w/ tophats pre-installed - $790
- XXR 530 wheels - $600
- Tires (yet to buy) - $700-$900
- Full 4-way active sound system install (much recycled from last car), including miniDSP, and Zapco 2 channel amp, wires, sound deadening, misc components - $1000+
As you can see, I have let things get out of hand.

^^^ Fortunately the car was well taken care of and just got maintenance done before getting rid of it. Spark plugs are overdue and need replacing but timing belt has already gotten done. My car has 111k miles on it. For now, I'll just add an exhaust and get the windows tinted

Glad you got a good car! Just remember, as cars get older, parts will start to fail. If you have the 5AT, I would definitely recommend doing the tranny 3x3, unless the current fluid is still pink. I had a guy who worked at Acura for 15 years tell me to change my tranny fluid every 15k. Just my .
