2014 MDX with LDW FCW Transmission: P177A problem

So our 2014 has about 56k miles. My father likes to put lots and lots of miles on his cars and this is no exception. So typically we take the problem head on while other wait for their problems to rise.

We had few other things change under warranty and this might be the biggest issue we are encountering.

So just about an hour ago my father called me and said some lights are showing up in his car. So he said something about transmission light. Anyway car was drive-able and doesn't seems like it has any problem with shifting.
However "D" light was blinking and LDW FCW and finally Transmission: P177A code lights up.

I am glad the dealer was so close to our store and they were open so late. I was able to drop off the car and now waiting game will happen. I have looked everywhere for the code or if anyone had similar problems but I did not find any. I will let you folks updated how this will be taken care of.

okay took it to the dealership. They said my tranny fluid was low so they refilled it. And they updated software. but after driving around 50 miles the light came back again. I will call dealer again and take it back to let them diagnosis it again.

It seems like our car is having same problem. Dealership will replace the switch and charge me. I called Acura customer relations and let them explain why it wasn't covered under warranty. Since it's an "external" part of transmission it is my responsibility.

We will see if it actually fixes after this one. Probably spending around 500 to 700 just to get this switch fixed -_-

I still can't believe this part is culprit of every generation of MDX.... so which means that our transmission might fail at around 100k like usual Honda automatic transmissions. I will probably go ahead and get rid of this car before that happens and never buy another Honda again. I guess if you want to buy a honda, stick with good old manual.

I'd also make them refund you the money you paid for an issue that didn't fix the problem.

So we finally got our car back. Light came on went back and they finally decided to change the transmission. And after 1 1/2 week we got our car back and everything is now okay.

I called Acura relations and they suck big time. They are just robots, I don't know why they are even getting paid to answer the same exact stuff.

But I am going to call again to get my money back the previous trips since it seems like it was unnecessary for me to pay those fees.

So what was actually wrong with the transmission? I am sorry about your problem, and not trying to be an ass, but what type of maintenance was done on the transmission? When was the fluid changed?

2015 MDX with LDW FCW and Transmission warnings

I owned my 2015 MDX Tech since purchased new from the dealer. The moment the vehicle’s odometer hit 99k, these warnings came on.
the vehicle has always been serviced at either the Acura or Honda dealers.

The interesting part of it is that the transmission seems to work well as well as the lane departure warning (it advises me when there is a vehicle when I want to turn lanes). I do not know if the forward collision warning. I disconnected the positive terminal of the battery and checked the VSA linked fuse. That seem to work for my drive to work. However in my drive from work the lights came back on. At the moment they still turn on after about 2 minutes after the engine is turned on.

i called customer relations and informed me of the problem. As others have mentioned, they have no solutions. I called just to report it.

i called the dealer and the tech who answered made it sound that they have never heard of it. I will be taking it there so they can see it. Hopefully they will not charge me.
