This thing sucks ass to install. Thank you to a few people on here for helping. Looks like the half shaft is coming out today. What else do I need to unbolt besides the ball joint. I want to remove the bare min to get he stock primary cat out the wheel well.

I didn't have to take anything off, "SNAKE" it in from the top.

No way in hell hahah Im going to take the intercooler off. I need to just get the primary cat out as it is floating around on there. I just it off the turbo but I can not get the Axel to separate from the half shaft tho. I am going to pull the intercooler and try one more time to get it out from the top.

the intercooler is pretty easy to get on and off.. but snaking it up through the top is the best option ive seen people do through the past

Yeah, we just didn't have the room to work with to get the cat out. Wheel well was the way to go for us.

Yeah I got mine installed a month ago, I went to another Acurazine member in my area and he helped me installed the parts. We were able to reached the first cat after getting the intercooler off and through the top. Somehow we managed to get the first cat off without taking off the shaft... But to do that we needed to take those big heat shields off first and then squeezed everything else through successfully.

Oh you took off the heat shields while the cat was still in there?

That certainly might do it.

Yeah I didn't have to remove the shaft, just a bit of hard work squeezing them out...

i got it out! I had to cut everything up to the inlet of the cat and got it out the top. I separated the axel but did not need to do it. Ahh at least the install will be soooooo much easier. Ill have a video of open downpipe haha need to get it up on the ramps to install the 2nd part of it. btw rich at rv-6 is awesome.. i lost the directions just wanted to see if i missed a step and he sent them right to my email and we talked on the phone. a+ in my book. Now if we could get them to make a 3" cat back )

congrats! The install is pretty easy. Be very careful on that secondary O2 sensor position and follow the directions very carefully. I'm still not throwing a light myself...

I just cut the wires on the secondary o2. I was pissed when it came time to unhook haha. I disabled it In flashpro so no cel. Broke the passenger side wheel sensor by not supporting the knuckle when I took the Axel out.. No biggie $24 from acura. I would disable the secondary and you will never need to mess with it again. About 12-13:1 Afr from my 11.6 so it leaned out a little bit.

So, I have all my readiness monitors passed except for EVAP, and no pending codes. I've got my AFRs down to 12.2-12.3 with a slight cut to boost with a target of 11.6 as well - is that acceptable to run with? Should I target richer?

I'm not sure what the ideal AFR is for these cars, but if you're not knocking or pulling timing, you should at least be safe.

Hello KenB350z,

How did you "SNAKE" your Downpipe from the top and not have to remove any parts?
I have(2007 RDX/Tech) A ATLP Exhaust and soon will have the Rv6 High Flow Downpipe. I want to install both in one shot. Any advice/photos would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yes, Pictures and how-to would be great. Is it doable by a novice who can take apart things like nuts and bolts, but when you start talking cutting CAT's and pipes and such, that may be a little too much for me to want to handle. RDX is now five years old and out of the initial CPO warranty. Now, just powertrain left for two more years. Still a joy to drive once a week.

I don't think I took as many pictures as I do now. But, you can just wrap a cloth around it and get it through the top.

What did you remove to install "snake" the DP from the top? TMIC and what else? I have the catted DP, did you have both pieces connected when you "snaked" it from the top?, obviously you removed the old DP first. Were you able to remove the heatshield and all the bolts from the top or did you have to do some work from the underside of the car? Wrapping the DP must mean you really have to force it in place from the top. Thanks for any info you can supply.

if my emissions light is on already, will it stay on after i install the rv6 downpipe cat delete. I'm hoping my problem is just the old cats and that the emissions code is causing the tranny and AWD codes to go off too.
