Pushing out carefully with screwdriver, because nut never came off screw. Whole piece unscrewed from block. No leakage of anything.

First cleaned with alcohol and Q-tips, then i worked the damp alcohol rag back and forth . Completely got all the gunk out. It was disgusting. Now lever snaps in and out of place perfectly
