ZDX size for a garage

Thinking of buying a ZDX here in south Florida. My main issue is I have a one car garage that I have been trying to do the math if this car will reasonably fit in the garage. With a base width of 79 inches not including the mirrors, it should fit barely through the door… but opening the door to get out of the car may be very difficult. The length will barely make it as well, like 2 inches to spare.

I am coming from a TSX where I had tons of room to get out.

anyone have any input on how wide this car actually is with mirrors?

I found one in south Florida for sale, but I am not buying it unless I know it fits in my garage. And the dealer won’t let me rent it for a day… heck even a test drive that’s 2 hours they won’t do (I live a about 1 hour away from the dealer).

hard to find anyone with this car around and that won’t think I’m nuts asking them to drive in my garage for a minute lol.

The mirrors fold back, if that’s any help. though not really relevant to door access/exit. Maybe you could rent another same-sized car?

I've had my ZDX for about 2 years now and I never have any problems fitting into outdoor/indoor parking spots or garages(my mom a single garage and I back into it often). However I will note that the larger width of the car as well as the length of the front doors combined definitely make it harder to get in and out of the car once parked.

Being a slimmer build and only 5'6" I don't find it cumbersome. My parter who is a bigger build than me sometimes struggles but can always get in and out. I definitely only noticed how tight the fit usually is with the ZDX after I had swapped cars with my mom for her 2020 NX.
The actual difference in width is quite small however I did notice it had a major impact on the entrance and exit of the vehicle.

Also to note that before the ZDX I had a 2008 RDX and I would probably say I didnt notice as much of a difference between the RDX/ZDX as I did with the NX/ZDX switchover. Even though the RDX and NX are the same 73.6" in width without mirrors.

Not sure if standard sizing of parking spot etc. are the same on the us vs canada.

Hope this helps.

@IndycarFaster

Below is the size and dimensions of a 2010 ZDX (right side) compared to a 2010 MDX (left side). Their measurements are virtually identical except for the length (ZDX slightly longer) height (the MDX is obviously much taller). If you can get a hold of a 2010-2013 MDX to use for a short period of time that should give you a good, if not great idea of how the ZDX fits into your garage. Good luck!
