Timing belt
Timing belt
I am at 76,000 miles on 2010 ZDX and have not done timing belt yet. I decided to just do it at 80,000 but is that pushing it? I had a Legend Coupe years back and did belt at 114,00 and belt still looked great.
Brake Mitagation stop working ON ZDX
after three dealer attempts and them test driving my car total of 83 miles, 😡😡 when I picked it up they said it’s fixed just leave your ACC light on. I thought , first of all I came here because my ACC green light was on and paid dealer $488 for new main switch so it will turn off. Now I have to leave it on ?? In that case I just wasted $488. I could have done nothing and let the ACC light be on. So with new switch I can turn it on and off like before. So he said yea we fixed your brake mitagation by adjusting the camera
So after driving my car I noticed it still does not warn me when getting close to bumper of cars so still not working. Not sure why he said it’s fixed when it’s not.
I give up! They obviously can’t fix it so it’s a option I will miss. Also! They said my oil pump seal leaking but not hitting the ground ? Was pressuring me to do it right now ! Even said I can save money and just do belt , but not water pump , who is that stupid to not do that pump while doing belt. I decline cause he said $2200!! Now on my paper acura gives you it mention they suggested timing belt , brake flush , but left off oil pump seal leak , same as TL back then , a guy told me but would not put it on paper
so I called dealer yesterday asking what recommendation was listed on my car shortly after I got off phone from the guy I was complaing to regarding my CMBS plus driving my car all those miles. The lady on phone said oh he fixed it where only he can see the oil pump leak suggestion. Why if they told me I have a leak , why was it not written down and why is it not on screen for others to read off to me ? Also when I said I will take my car to a shop to verify the leak he said “ just bring it here they don’t know that car!
Years back they told me my 2004 TL has a oil pump seal leak not hitting ground and if I do now $1500
i almost said ok but was puzzled due to my car had 77,000 miles and perfect cond. so I got second opinion from a trustee mechanic and he said your car not leaking nothing period. We love to take your money but honestly it’s not leaking anything.
so not believing it’s leaking on ZDX either.
so anyone CMBS brake mitagation not working ?
Anyway plan to do when I get to 80,000 miles.

You know that is garbage. I have just over 59K on my 2013 and was told I needed my belt changed. I hesitated and declined, which I'm glad I did. I've gotten to the point to where I say is what on this sheet your mechanic's recommendation based on what they saw or what the manual recommends? I tell you, its amazing how with a multi-point inspection an issue can go from yellow or red back to green depending on when you go and who is the mechanic and/or service rep. I truly feel this is where some of the large auto dealers make their money especially, when they don't have many cars on the lot.
