Rear window broke

This ZDX is one of our service dept. loaner vehicles, the damage shown happened earlier today as my svc. mgr. was moving it. The vehicle was driven to it's parking spot, he got out, closed the driver's door (normally) and the rear window shattered! Our district rep. happened to be visiting today and confirmed that this is not an isolated incident, there are several other known cases of this happening around the country. Curious if anyone else has seen this?

Wow, that is really strange if true. maybe the weight of the glass being so horizontal and so large. maybe heat was a factor?

I haven't heard of this happening to the ZDX before, but when the Scion tC came out (in 2005) a bunch of people had the rear sunroof shattering after the door was closed. Something about the pressure changing in the cabin.

they need to vent the cabin better so the pressure change isnt dramatic wen the door is closed
